1999 E36? Would that be manafactured '98 first registered 1999? If you are keen you should probably talk to an independant BMW technician. SMGI wasn't overly great was it guys.

I'm terribly sorry Rog. What an aweful way to lose someone.Deepest condolences & sincerest regards.

I was thinking along the lines of Jap Mercs.

Unfortunately tis life. People always f**k you (people in general) around. They say "If you want something done properley, do it yourself". And i've only been on this Earth 15 entire (nearly 16) years. Learnt that pretty quickly. I must admit though, no reply after 6 hours is actually crap service. If they havent found the part they could at the very least discuss the options with you. Though G, It may have helped to quote your last 7 digits.

Breaking downSloppy Confusing. Not as slick as the 6 speed manual.Or as reliable.
-
I work at a car dealership, and the general concensus is that they are dogs, absolute rubbish gearboxes.Everyone loves the "purity" of a straight off 6 speed manual. However, bearing in mind this is coming from people who are probably not used to SMG gearboxes, they probably have a "Peice of sh*t that I can't work" attitude to it.Who would know.Opinions eh? If you would like, I could talk to an Engineer tommorow and ask the pros and cons? The actual technical aspect of the gearbox, reliability, comfort, etc?

Wheres the usual "cofee-break" story Jochen? Anyway thats awesome, pics would be good. Good thinking with all this nav stuff. You should make a business out of it, perhaps extending to other marquees...

I'd buy it and sell it to Gus for 8k Na really, you guys are right.Sit my test in a manual. I'm already learning in a manual and its not going too bad at all. Yeah it's pretty much sorted that I'm going to buy an auto. Mint 316iA, NZ New, 3 owners incl. my boss, 150k.

Blacker than Gus, hotter than hot. Damn that is one fine ride G! I call a Bimmersport roadtrip end of next year!

Hey Guys Sorry this WTB is pretty much N/A. Spoke to the Sales Manager at work and I'm probably going to buy his 88 316iA in a few months when he sells it, on a few provisors. Decided against a manual. Future maybe. Cheers Em

-

I mostly know how to drive a manual. Pretty easy. Might get restricted in an auto, then just decide from then.Thing is I'm working with cars all day everyday (when I'm not at school) and plan on staying in the automotive industry... I can get my restricted on the 21st of this month, buy an E30, be happy with it and then get a manual licence later on.
-
Been fishing.Scary river, will never go back.Mint ride. Are ya keen for a meet in January next year?
-
Confusing sh*t. Now they tell me "Why don't you just get a licence in an auto, most cars these days are auto's"
-
Um, random. Mike- What have ya got? May be keen. Lets all go buy 190e's, spend 5 years doing them up, then move onto E36's. Sounds good!
-
Thats pretty damn sweet! Very rare. Quite an early version is it? Orange indicators..
