BMW POWER

I have seen a South African import 1991 E30 318i 5 Speed on Trademe, and i was wondering about what they are like compared to NZ new and Jap import in terms of reliability, fixes etc. This one seems to be a good price, and in good condition Trademe link here Are those seats leather or vinyl? I know they're all made to BMW standards no matter what the country, but like the environment can damage them, like in Japan the rubber trim gets eroded etc. Also, I think some E30's were built in S.A weren't they? Any help would be greatly appreciated. In this picture it also looks unnaturally high, even for stock. Is it just my eyes, or the time of day it was taken or is it really high? Emma

Yeah, I agree Martyn, they are on sideways. If they were made intentionally like that, the Remus picture would be on the top. But in saying that, on each pair of tips, one is shorter than the other, for the whole look/design of the exhausts, so its either been done like that aftermarket, eg not done originally Remus, or remus did it like that to be random. Just my 2c. I would do a goodle image on remus exhausts, or find out more info. Looks like nice exhausts BTW.

Your getting rare- as in hard to find or rear as in back tyres? As with all tires and tire sizes It all depends what brand you get, ring the local tire shop. 18" mags/tyres. Well the 2 rear tyres on the E39 just got replaced. 265/35 ZR18 Goodyear eagle F1's = $911 for 2, or $455.50 each. They are what replaced the Continental ContiSports. Dad enquired about Continentals, $890 for one. He also enquired about Uniroyals, and BMW had this deal when we brought the car that we would get 2 rear tires at cost price. Still ther cost price was $560+gst. So it was the F1's. And they're still "Made in Germany" Just had to chuck that one in The tire guy said that with Continentals they're just the same quality as any brand/reputable brand. I think you pay for the name. My advice, don't get BIG mags unless you got BIG money to pay for BIG tires. Cheers Emma
