Yip jeddy's right: BMW VIN decoder says it's a 324d but NZ plate/vin decoder (from 'Interesting website - worth a look' thread) gives it as the genuine article: Make: BMW Model: ALPINA Year: 1990 Submodel: B10 Main colour: Blue Vehicle type: Passenger Car/Van Body style: Saloon No of seats: 5 CC rating: 3,430 Fuel type: Petrol Assembly type: Imported Built-Up Country of origin: Germany VIN: 7A81H290701824479 Plate: ALL159 Engine no: 346KB Chassis: 0BF91660 The chassis number matches what you found, even the mileage matches Reading the details of the one on trademe sounds like there are a number of alpina B10 wannabes. Seems the alpina b10' came in both manual 5 and auto 4 speed all about it B10: 254bhp/192 kw: I think your e39 530 gives you 231bhp/170kw

Yeah still keen- $20 for was it can't go wrong at that price I should PM you
-
Awesome Ian, be interesting to see how you (car) go (goes)
-
One Tree Hill- so your running ok, power and idling good then?
-
rxsumo cheers for your comments, darn youve had a bad run Cheers sick pup,
-
DArn that's cheap- yeah let ,e know know you go, I'd grab a set for that $ if possible. Presume you mean you are trying the F7LTCR you originally stated- as the F7LDCR are the recommended sp's
-
You live pretty close to bmw place then. All good. As kerrynzl said better to be safe. When you know problem shout out and lets know
-
Dont worry Simon*, enjoying seeing your signiture pic anyways
-
Outta my depth here- don't know the 39 layout myself. Had a quick look on realoem.com for cooling system diagram but could not see anything water related around that area of engine See:Cooling system
-
Either you got a blight light now- or wait till morning... most likely just a hose- particulalry connecting to radiator itself- could have a sheered rhose mount on radiator. New hose- cheap and easy, new radiator= easy but not that much $

Bosch +4 platinum=long life plugs= more expensive than standard (F7LDCR) BMW service garage in town quoted me $360 for changing plugs, $34/ plug Pretty safe bet these would be the long life platinum plugs- so pretty expensive Perhaps ring a bmw service place and ask if the plugs are suitable
-
Would have 3 prongs is better than 2- but no expert the M60 also takes NGK (BKR 6 EK) http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?mo...hg=12&fg=05 I too am looking at changing my plugs- same car as you know From memory Repro did NGK for $13 each, Super cheap is about $90 for set of 8, Segidans still waiting for their shipment of plugs to arrive Let me know what u do

'i'm paranoid about the auto giving me greif though' Obviously a comment on autos in general than make/model specifics- mmm Generally the ZF Transmission on BMWs are reliable...get on with good service history... bla bla- not really what you wanna hear though. Manual=more forgiving and auto= generally more expensive when things go wrong i guess- not that I know from experience of blowing either. Both probably true. I thought this before I bought my first auto (e28) but it doesnt stop me flooring an auto,- gotta be warmed up first of course just gotta not thrash it- never had a problem so far.
-
'Interesting' comments= people asking dumb Q's on TM then...don't tell me: what's it like on gas- that's always a classic Much interest- no one come forward so far no
-
Hey Rowan, Yeah you have been working hard to sell your car(s) So you think you might go 540 even if it an auto then- cool
-
Yeah Yuen she is is pretty good nick. Ollie I did a swifty plug for my car about a month ago, posted a pic, just testing someone at the time, think it migh have been in gen discussion section. Creaver: Car didn't come with tape storage rack thingy- this is my 3rd 34, none of em have had that hideous tape thing
-
Mackt: ...'probably early 2000'... ha, why when you can go all the way back to 1993 My choice would be the 540, over 530- funny I should say that!- Actually look at getting an 39 540 myself Already been a recent thread on e34 vs e39- won't get back on that one
-
Yeah, you literally just changed it a minute before- looked at your signiture img and though- what the frick happen here- pinstriping/decaling (good quality though) are obvoiusly decent on white cars
-
Ta, Actually looking at your signiture e30 image reminded me: when I first bought it one of the first things I thought of doing was pinstriping it with the Motorsport tri colours
-
White pepper mint for sale See: with tints white don't look too bad Obligatory (so it seems) trademe link Adrian

M5's may well be a standard body: "HB62" saloon but the VIN number clearly shows the car as having an M50 motor rather than the s38 (E34 m5) engine so yip as Brent said before: it's a 520 with M5 bits M5's used the 535 chassis From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M5: "It was produced at BMW M GmbH in Garching, Germany and like the previous M5, was entirely hand-built. It utilized the 535i chassis which was produced at BMW's Dingolfing plant. Assembly was done either by a single M employee or a team of M employees and generally took about two weeks. It is rumored that the test drivers of the E34 M5 could determine who or what team made each specific M5, due to characteristic quirks of the handbuilt nature of the E34 M5. The engines were also built by hand by BMW M technicians. All of the E34 M5 powerplants were built to a tolerance of within 5% of advertised output..." hand built...cool!
-
"special needs" M5 : lol.... Good description. Still a 520 with all the M5 extras including the bit under the bonnet ( 315 Hp don't forget) still represents an interesting car in my book. Quote: "we've got to stop that piece of sh*t winning this auction" : dude the person selling may be annoying to you- but sounds like the guy has got to you a bit to much- ney good for u to get too worked up. Anyways though there was proposed law to stop taggers under 16/18 buying spray cans- or there should be
-
Yeah she's in pretty good nick- ney mint though but v good. Said to myself I'd never buy a white car but hey a 540 : still niiiiiice! Love the purple of your iS. Colour- so subjective
-
My plug: I have an auto looking to sell in the next month or two. Some might say 'Ahh it's white': Arctic white I'll have you know- actually looks good against the tints Believe Cain is right re LSD etc. Very much doubt this one has LSD.
-
Driftit did you go back and find the owner of the car? I'd probably have a look and report back on what the car's all about. Where is it?
