Must be one of those people who thinks they can sell their car for what it owes them, rather than what it's actually worth
-
Could be keen, no idea when I will be in Paraparaumu next though if ever..

Do these people bank on drivers not taking them up on their ridiculous claims? On a related note, has anyone challenged such a thing before? This will be my first time so advice will be helpful.

Three letters then three numbers costs you $659. Upgrading any government issued plate to euro is $399. I have another plate (for that time in the distant future where I can afford another car) with my three initials then single digit month of birth and double digit year of birth, same as the government issue format. So if you were Barack Hussein Obama II, born 4th August 1961, get BHO861. Obviously that's only going to work if you're born before October and your name starts with J or beyond now.. Get a plate like this with a bit of meaning to you that looks completely normal to everyone else! EDIT: and if you buy a new one get a frame for it too, something like $30 extra. Screw the frame to the car and keep the plates in perfect condition. Makes it real easy to swap around with other plates too..

I'm not an expert on much when it comes to my BMW so I tend to throw money at things to make sure they're done properly the first time. Hence came my first experience with Rapid Radio. Only had to tell Mark what car I had (E34) and he knew I'd want something that went with it, none of this flashy chrome or graphics crap. He gave me a couple of head unit recommendations in different price brackets and I chose the mid-range Sony MEX-GS600bt http://rapidradio-px.rtrk.com.au/Product-Catalogue(99).asp?ProductCategoryId=1&ProductId=996, basically because the one-colour display can be any of 256 colours so I've matched it to all the other orange interior lights https://www.dropbox.com/s/zpfmy07hxemkucm/IMAG0428.jpg (photo not the best, head unit is a bit too bright but this can be adjusted also; looks perfect in person). I wasn't looking to replace speakers or anything at that stage (E34 factory ones are generally excellent as mine are) but he drew me out a plan of the car and made some suggestions for me to think about when the time came. Install was perfectly clean with a USB input running to the glovebox so a pen drive just sits in there with all my music on it. Can also be used for your phone to charge on those long road trips just like a normal USB port and play music over bluetooth or through the AUX input. Plenty of other features I don't even know about and obviously does all the basic things well. All in all I couldn't be happier with that particular head unit and the service of Rapid Radio. Actually going back there this weekend to check out some 'parking sensors' if you know what I mean.

Still got plenty of life in it too, not ready to be pulled apart yet! Do post up some pics of whatever you're gonna be doing

I agree but it needs someone else to appreciate it fully because I'm already hopelessly in love with an E34.. listed on TM now but would consider a better deal for a Bimmersport member http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-697768981.htm

Just bought this E32 for its second set of wheels and now need to sell it on. Would keep it if I was any one of the following: not a uni student, had a house or even just a garage, didn't have an E34 540i to sink all my money into already. Might even buy it back one day.. SS2133, 1992, NZ new, ~360,000kms, auto. Excellent inside and out and underneath. Pretty much everything is original, even a working factory stereo. Electronics, air con etc. all work. Always garaged by at least the two previous owners and now me (at my grandma's). Posting on here before TradeMe because it's been looked after too well to not go to a good home. $3k would be nice but more concerned about time so I can pay uni fees by March.. contact me on here, 0211661122 or [email protected]. Happy to answer any questions at all.

Thanks for all your help guys. How does one determine the centre bore size aside from measuring it? If I was to buy wheels off an E39 for example how would I know what size of hub centric rings I would need to make them fit snugly on the E34?

I've seen so many of this other style though and threads like this and this seem to confirm they are also genuine. Would be great if ACS just kept making them

I'd agree but they have just been refurbed.. not sure about the process but perhaps it might take away some of the telling marks? Maybe I'm just clutching at straws because I want to believe I've finally found some. Cheers for your input

Any wheel experts out there have an opinion on whether these Type IIs are the real thing? Only markings on the wheels are size (18X8.5JJ), presumably max load (650kg) and offset (ET15). Surprised to not see a country of manufacture anywhere although two of them have partial Gs.. perhaps the beginning of a Germany? Have been recently refurbed at Arrow Wheels, they apparently seemed to think they were genuine as does the owner as he bought them with the understanding they were. At this stage I'm 75% sure they aren't. And while we're on the topic if anyone ever wants to get rid of a genuine set of these I'll pay through the roof!
