There are a few ways to do it, one that will apply in this situation is the "Personal Import Scheme". The Luxury Car tax only applies if the cars valuation is over a certain figure, from memory it is somewhere around 50-60k mark. It also depends where he is going in Australia as the shipping costs vary quite substantially depending on the destination, and the duty, tax etc is calculated including them.

Are you talking about the chip that goes into the ecu? or the key chip?

What about the stuff that Glenn was talking about? The necessary connection to ABS etc.

My bad, I thought I put info in first post and turns out i didnt OOOps. So, engine is out of early e46, no key is available to me hence the reason for this topic, the engine is going into e30. Judging by what Glenn is saying the easiest is to ditch factory ecu and go for standalone, I have spoken to a guy from another forum that successfully put ms3 in his car to run m54 (double vanos). So looks like this would be the way to go. P.S. I have everything available to me apart from the key. Thanks for your inputs so far guys!

315cc is not going to get me over 300whp...in my case I'm not going bigger I'm simply replacing my injectors with new ones that have specs that suit me (high impedance etc)
