  3. They are all looking nice and clean (the E30's that is)!!!. Now, if you all have nothing better to do, after driving 2500km's so far over the Xmas holidays, my E30 is very very dirty and sandy, so feel free to come over and clean mine!!! I think that a visit to Car Fe is on order in the next couple of days (washing my car in the Apartment complex courtyard gets frowned upon....and besides I am feeling very lazy). Cheers

    Flex Disc

It is a flexible coupling that is in between the driveshaft and the transmission. It can become damaged over time (cracked, ripped, or out of shape). Cheers
  5. Yup, I have done this on my E30 325i, probably 10 times, with no problems at all (and also on my old E30 320i about 7 or 8 times with no problems either). Good luck Cheers
  6. I just cheat and use a bit of wire (with a fusable link), put in the right points in the 15 point connector in the engine bay, turn the key into the second position for 5 deconds, and the lights reset. Does the trick every time (on my E30 anyway) Cheers

    BLING BLING....its me

I saw from the pic of the engine bay that someone had added a clutch fluid reservior, normally these feed from the brake fluid reservior (I can't spell today).

Gus Was yours converted from Auto as well, or has it always been 5 spd? It is looking good, but I agree it is a little low imho. Those alloys were a little to much (they didn't look so 'chrome' bling bling in the original photos of it. I like your leather recaro seats. I wish mine had them. Cheers

    Air Conditioning

My A/C in now blowing ice cold again, it is bliss. I can now look forward to my mid summer driving around during the holidays in comfort. Cheers
  10. Hello I am keen at some stage very soon to clean my engine bay and engine. I have some questions: 1) What do you use to get rid of the cosmoline? 2) What parts should I cover over before using engine degreaser (I am thinking alternator/ battery/ fuse box...anything else)? 3) I have read (and seen pictures of before and after) that using a whole can of WD 40 all over the engine and its components after the water used to get rid of the degreaser had dried makes everything look nice and shiney and new. Has anyone tried this? Does this really work? 4) Any other hints/ things to watch out for I should be aware of? TIA for any help. Cheers

    Radars and Alarm Kit

I wouldn't buy anything off you out of principle. Go spam someone else....or at least ask for permission before you post spam like this. Otherwise, talk to Andrew about paying to be an advertiser on the site/ forums. Cheers

I am getting it regassed tomorrow, at Cool Car in Grey Lynn.

    Air Conditioning

in the heat and humidity like we have been having over the last week or so, I tell you I would rather be in a car that is fractionally slower, and marginally down on power with air conditioning, than the same car without it, but with marginally more power. My opinion anyway...for what its worth. Cheers

    89' 325i manual

That is a good looking E30. I actually quite like the alloys that it has, sounds like quite a good overall package. Cheers

    Air Conditioning

I like my air conditioning, and would much rather have it than not. I actually hate driving at any speed over about 50km/h with the window down. Cheers
  18. MSBOND....im not one to pass judgement (well occassionally), but do not under any circumstances put those monstrosities on your Bimmer. Just kidding...they are not my cup of tea, but if you like them good on ya. Cheers
  19. Hello Does anyone know of anywhere cheap up here in Auckland to regas my air conditioning (now that it is getting much warmer). It has been retrofitted with R134a gas, but I have a small leak in the system (that it is not worth getting fixed - it is cheaper to keep regassing it every 18 months or so). I had some dodgy guy in Hamilton do it last time for about $50.00 or so, and am hoping I can find someone in Auckland who is equally as cheap.....or failing that, who do you guys recommend. Cheers

    Fuel Filter

There's no such thing as a dumb question!!
  22. Grant

    Fuel Filter

short of removing the whole fuel tank and cleaning it out, I don't think so....but that is what the fuel filter is there for, so I wouldn't worry too much about any crap in the bottom of your tank. Cheers

    $$$shit$$$

Hey Bumpstop Why do you want to sell, it seems you have put a lot of work into your car? Cheers

    Fuel Filter

I have never changed mine, and have had my E30 325i (smaller 6) for almost 5 years. It is more of a problem if you let the tank run really low on fuel often, then you end up with the sh*t at the bottom of your fuel tank going through your fuel filter....but if it is running rough, it could be an option to look at replacing, but it is no use replacing it if there is nothing wrong with it. Cheers
  25. No real advantage or disadvantage. The NGK plugs are good, but I would probably stick with the Bosch ones, they are not that expensive. Sorry, can't help you with the Wellington mechanic. Good Luck Cheers
