yeah, that would suck...but I put a new 325i badge on mine a while ago, and the old one came off easy enough...but better safe than sorry.
-
Good call - lose the M Badge, they only belong on proper M cars.

I have just downloaded the video....aweosme Can't wait till I have orgainsed the first one of these...now that the holidays are over and I am back into normal mode, I can concentrate on this a bit more. Hope people would be keen on a bit of autocrossing!! Cheers

What's the point? I suppose it stands out from all other E36's, but it makes no sense. Has he got rid of the piller too? Cheers
-
Nice tidy car - looks good, wheels aren't my cup of tea - but as long as you like them thats cool. The interior is a bit different, I quite like it, well done Cheers

Ms Bond It is not a real M. There never was an E30 M318i. The closest is a 318is, which is only a 2 door, with sports interior. Cheers

or just turn the stereo up to drown it out.

Just live with the tapping. AFAIK, all E30's are prone to this. It personally doesn't bother me, and mine tap away all of the time. Cheers
-
a small correction on above (and an addition) e = eta (either greek or latin, means efficient/economical) a = automatic (with the exception of someone like Tim or me who have converted there auto to manual). Cheers

Gus I am thinking that you will be a panelbeaters dream, I bet that in a few years time you would have bent every part there is to bend on a car, which is fine so long as you stay in one piece. Cheers

I'm with BimmerBoy, 37 South and DNZ on this one. Not that I don't respect what Glenn etc have done, he seems to have a truly amazing car, each to their own, I just go with BMW engine in a BMW, Honda into Honda etc...I agree, the engine is the heart of a car, and therefore the most important factor. Cheers

Hello I have an E30 digital clock (not an OBC) that I picked up with a bunch of other E30 parts (switches etc). I was hoping that this would be a straight swap in my 325i with the current analogue one that I have. However, it had a different plug on the end (the analogue one has a four pin plug on the end, and this one has an 8 (or 10) pin plug, that is a different shape. Does anyone have one a plug from a digital clock lying around. I will attempt to wire it up using the existing wires (but with the different plug) I think that I might be pushing the proverbial uphill here...but what the hell, it is worth a shot (I thought my electric window, and glovebox requests would not yield me any luck but they both did). Cheers

Also, the second you start changing the car from its original form, you affect the resale value...but this not bother me, as being an E30, mine is worth far more to me, than I would get for it anyway. However, manual (non M3) E36's are bloody hard to find, so this might actually add a premium to its value (for the rarity factor). Cheers

And the other factory standard E30 Alloy Wheels are called Basket Weaves (the one with the criss-cross pattern). Again, they are known as basket weaves because...well....they look like the weave of a wicker basket. These are a bit more scarce than bottlecaps, and are in demand. Cheers

It sounds a lot like a loose (or dirty) connection at the rear of your speedo, in the dash. For it to magically come right again, this would explain it. Maybe pull your dash out and check the connection. Cheers

Hi Blair Ring Steve at SD European (you will get his number from www.sdeuropean.co.nz - I can't remember it off hand) He has converted a number of E36 auto's to manual. He also converted my E30 to manual, and did a really good job. Good Luck Cheers

Cage Good score on the BMWE30 plate, amazing it was still available. I must have seen another similar one then. Well done. Cheers
-
Wasn't the plate BMWE30 on a gold coloured E30 in Hamilton? Did you buy it off someone, or get it from Personalised Plates? Cheers

The Essen's (not the chromed ones), in my opinion, best suit the E30. As you say they are a classic BMW wheel...and the E30 is a classic (well in your case a highly modified classic). I think that an E36 would suit the M5 or M3 replica's better. Cheers

Graeme Many thanks for the parts I picked up on Saturday. They are all installed in the car, and fix a few niggles. Also don't worry about the Air vent...the nail polish trick worked perfectly, and it is fully operational again. Cheers

Hi As I said I will take a glovebox at the $20.00 you said. Give me a call on 027 285 1448 to arrange me to pick it up (maybe this weekend, as I will be out of Auckland for the next two days). Cheers

I have taken my car to the Car Fe 3 times now in the last 6 months. They do a really good and thorough job. I watched them closely the first time, and was amazed what a great job they do for the money (I have always had the $35.00 one). Also when they have finished, one guy goes over the car and checks everything off to make sure nothing has been missed. Also, what is reassuring is that each time, my car has pretty much been the worst one there, and last time (which was in the middle of a week day there were two new(ish) Porsche 911's, an Aston Martin DB7, and numerous newer euro cars than mine being cleaned, so if people are willing to entrust their $100,000 + cars to the people, then I am sure I can trust them with by sub $10,000 Bimmer. Cheers

Gidday Bumpstop Cheers for that...but I think I have it fixed. Last night I pulled the button apart, and cleaned all of the contacts and reinstalled it, it seems to be working fine now. Cheers anyway. Will see you at Taupo I'm sure in February.

Sounds good to me, Give me a call on 027 285 1448, I'll come out and pick one up, or if you are coming into the city at all, we could meet and I'll grab one then. I may have got the window switch fixed (I pulled it to bits last night, cleaned the contacts etc and reinstalled, it seems to be going ok now)......but I may take one that you have for sale. Cheers
-
Hello I am after an electric window button for my E30 to replace one that is playing up. If anyone has one for sale let me know. Cheers
