    O2 Sensor and Cat

Ahhhh...thanks Graeme, that would make sense. That sensor is faulty, and I have removed the light from the overhead panel. Therefore it is safe to assume I can remove the cat (and the sensor too???). Cheers

    O2 Sensor and Cat

Cheers, I might unplug it, go for a reasonable drive and see how it runs.

    awesome 5 series

yup, I think you are right, they would give standard Holden or Ford V8's a hiding...a fair bit classier too. Cheers
  4. Hello My E30 325i is a Japanese import, and therefore has a cat. The O2 sensor plugs straight into the cat. My question is....if I change the exhaust, and remove the cat, where would the o2 sensor need to plug into? I don't want to muck upthe ECU and the info it needs to do its magic. Cheers

    awesome 5 series

Awesome...I like the 6spd 540i - they seem to be a bit of a rare beast...almost as hard as finding a 5spd (non-M3) E36. They have good power, but are a bit too heavy. Cheers
  6. I have read in a number of places, that performance chips are only really effective when the intake and headres/exhaust are modifies as well to provide better flow of air into the engine, and freer flowing exhaust. However, you still should see some improvements with the chip alone. Are Torque Performance Australian? Cheers

    F/S e30 325 parts

Ali Are you coming up to Taupo? If so I might see about a few bits and pieces from here. Would you be able to collect them if I bought them (I would not buy anything big or awkward for you to carry) and bring them to Taupo? If not, not sweat. Cheers
  10. Where is FBI Auto Accessories, if I can I'll try and get there tomorrow (but realistically won't make it). I am going to the Waiheke Food and Wine Festival.
  11. Mine is getting a wax job tonight - I washed it last night, cleaned the inside last weekend (before my oil filter debarcle).
  12. sweet, I'll have a shufty at it on Sunday. I hope you have given (or are giving) the 325i the love it deserves for Sunday. I just had to make sure it was easy to install, I have a habit of making easy things, harder than they need to be. Cheers
  13. Tim so it is worth it? Was it easy to install? Cheers
  14. Hi James. I would be very interested, have you got any further details? Cheers

    E30 Parts

Gidday, and welcome to the forum. You can join the queue for the leather Recaro's - everybody is after them. See if you can find a wrecked M325i, that looks to be the same kit as from these. Cheers
  16. oh yeah.... another trap for young players. If you use degreaser on your engine, make sure you hose it off really (I mean really) thoroughly. I did not, and had a smelly smoking manifold while the excess burned off. You can learn a lot from my stuff ups!!!! Cheers
  17. Shadowliner, I am sceptical of those power figures (but am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, so will leave it at that) but assuming that these figures are true. But....how well does the stock engine (used as the base for these wild conversions) stand up to the stresses etc that such power would put on them? Does this power mean that they are terribly temperamental/ unreliable? 300Kw is one hell of a lot of power to make using an old engine. Cheers
  18. Hello After all of my oil change drama's, I filled the Bimmer with nice new oil, went for a nice drive last night, and come back, and later on what do I see??? A couple of drops of oil right under the sump plug, with another drop forming nicely. I was an idiot and reused the copper crush-washer from the sump plug instead of replacing it. Now I am going to have to put up with a (very) small oil leak until my next oil change. This is a trap for young players (and old ones like me!!). Cheers

    E30 Brake Duct

Hello Whilst attempting to remove my stubborn oil filter, Andrew noticed that my passenger side brake duct was missing. If anyone has one that they are willing to sell to me, I would like to buy it. Failing that I will just jerry-rig a bit of flexible ducting to do the same job. Cheers

    Oil Filter !!!!!!

The Filter is off!!!!!!! I called a mobile mechanic, who came straight around and had a look. He got the filter off in 5 minutes...I could not believe it...and to make things worse he got it off using a single filter wrench, and without even having to raise the car. He said the secret is....the angle of attack...not the strength. However, he did say that the filter was on bloody tight (he had a good look to make sure that the mount was not damaged at all, and it is fine) Amazing....I am now very much relieved (if not a bit red faced). Again...a big thanks to Andrew and Angus for their efforts yesterday. (I maintain that we must have loosened the filter for the guy today!!!!) Cheers

    Oil Filter !!!!!!

Yes...many thanks to the efforts of Andrew and Gus. Our collective efforts couldn't unstick the fricken filter. But thanks heaps to the guys for the efforts anyway. Tim, at this stage and after this weekend I am really really keen for the K&N Oil filter. I will resort to having to get a mobile mechanic come and (try to) remove it. Cheers

    Headlight Aiming

I have just read...there are headlight adjusting screws on the back of the headlights. You will need to taking the casing around the headlights off to get to them. They look to be white, and stick out about 2cms. Cheers

    Headlight Aiming

Those things never work (in fact I think that they stopped working the first time that the original owner drove it out of the factory). They are un-repairable too. I recently cut mine too (because I replaced the interior trim under the steering wheel, and couldn't be bothered cutting the hole for the switch/dial). I tried to remove the tubes...but this got too hard without taking the whole dash out. You should be able to adjust them using the screw/knobs on top of the headlights in the engine bay (I have never had to adjust mine, so hope I am right) Cheers
