    Oil.....

I use Castrol Magnatec 10w-40. It is in the range for our climate just fine. I did use Mobil 1 for a while, but it is a bit thin, and my M20 burned a bit too much of it for my liking (and my wallets liking). Cheers

    Oil Filter !!!!!!

it is in the normal place (non SA place)...easy to get too. I have a filter wrench...but I have now bent it!!! I will put on some beers for anyone who can get it off (but remember I can't drive it anywhere...my car is stuck in the garage).
  3. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (to borrow a phrase from Gus)!!! I am part way through my oil change...and have hit a real snag!!! The oil is drained.....but I can't get the oil filter off (I have done this a heap of times, and never had a problem before). I have tried putting a screwdriver through it, but still having no luck!!! HELP!!!!!! Any ideas? I fear I will have to call a mobile mechanic to assist in getting it off, I have actually bent my filter wrench with effort. Cheers
  4. on the roadside outside the actual venue. It wasn't in the Show N Shine competition.
  5. nah - cosmoline is the yellowy buildup that builds up on the top of the intake manifold and the vavle cover. Andrew I know has got rid of it on his car (I remember him hassling me about it on my car at the Show N Shine thingee at the BMW NZ HQ My engine bay cleaning has begun....after what I imagine is 14 years of build up of crap in my engine bay. Cheers
  6. I like that M3 in the picture a lot!! Is it the Harmann one? Cheers
  7. Hello I want to get rid of the cosmoline from my engine bay. What have you guys (who have got rid of it) used? Cheers

    My E30 325i

whaddaya mean...it has big assed wheels!!! 14" monster bottlecaps at each of the four corners!!! Na...seriously, at this stage leave them as they are, if I found the right wheels I would put them on, but no real desire to do so at the moment....but nothing bigger than 16" on an E30...no offence to those with bigger ones, but they look out of place on an E30. Big wheels are much better suited to E36 and E46's. Cheers

    E30 Towbar

Hello I want to buy an E30 towbar, for my 325i. It does not have to be too strong, it needs to be able to handle my bike rack, and two bikes. Cheers

    My E30 325i

It will be clean again this weekend....or that is the plan. Cheers
  12. Yeah, I have noticed that too, there are all manner of places selling aftermarket Bimmer bits and pieces, and prices much better than available here, or in the USA. However, a lot of the adverts look a bit dodgy, and that quality may not be the highest. It aould be helpful to see many of the items in person before getting them all the way across here. Cheers

    My E30 325i

oh yeah...you probably wouldn't recognise my Bimmer at the moment, it is filthy, and I think I have 1/2 of Pauanui's beach sand in my boot...and half of each brake pad, in brakedust all over my bottlecaps. Cheers

    My E30 325i

No - I walk to work, in the city, and am afraid I was stuck in my office all day. My car was still in the garage when I got home, so it wasn't stolen. Wasn't me. Will be in Mission Bay/ Kohimarama in about an hour though...so if anyone sees on there, it will be me. Cheers
  16. Graeme McCormack (gmccormack on this board), had one for sale recently (he actually had two for sale, but I bought one). Give him a try. Cheers
  17. Cheers, I'll try them. Ardmore it would appear is out, they don't seem to want these type of events there anymore. I am going to have a good chat to the senior members at the BMW CC during the Taupo Driver training about this, and how we can get these started. It might be easier, if we can go under their umbrella to approach potential venues. Cheers

    My E30 325i

Andrew I's official colour is granitsilber-metallic. Cheers
  20. realistically it won't be until around then anyway. I want to organise it properly, have proper rules etc...mainly to cover my ass should anybody have an accident. Also finding a venue is proving to be a mission at this stage...but i'll keep looking, if anyone has any ideas, I am open to suggestion!! Cheers

    My E30 325i

Here is the dashboard. I couldn't survive without the momo steering wheel...but it does obscure the speedo a bit at times.

    My E30 325i

Hello All I was looking at a CD I found in my laptop bag, and found some reasonably recent pictures of my E30 325i...so I thought that I would share. My Bimmer is pretty standard, and not all that interesting, and does not really stand out from the crowd.....which is exactly what I want. As you can see it is a grey, 4 door, 5 spd 325i. It started life as an auto, but was converted about 2.5 years ago. I have nearly had this bimmer for 5 years, and it has now done 165,000km's. It is pretty tidy, and I like to keep it that way. Cheers
