Well no, no cert required - for ba$tardising something that unique as what you've got in that poor defenceless little old Mini, maybe one of those jackets that does up at the back & a bit of a slapping would be in order before holes get drilled in the poor thing.....................

Its all well in good when new but what about once the cars gotten older, had multiple owners and have dropped alot in price etc, you'd probably have to sell body parts to pay to any repairs on the auto if it went wrong

Hmmmm. I'm inclined to agree with Dan really. Like, this logic is a bit like saying you're gonna chose the short Jenny Craig challenged chick that looks like shes been chasing parked cars, over the 6ft Amazon goddess that really does tick a few boxes, simply cos no-one else is gonna hit on the first one........

Reality is new auto's are very very good in my opinion, & have been for a number of years IMO. Some of the new manuals are now 6 speed boxes, because some muppet decided that's the new fad to have, & in a lot of cases, its turned really good cars into a worse version of what they were in 5 speed manual form IMO.......

If you ever want to see a really good benchmark - go test drive a new Ford Ranger in auto & manual form - both are 6 speeds. The manual is just a dog of a thing, yet the auto combined with the other technology in the vehicle makes it simply outstanding, both on & off road..............

Its a bit like saying I won't buy something with ABS in case that plays up one-day, etc etc..........

Even on a lot of the new big trucks, earth moving gear etc, its auto trans or torque-convertor type drivetrain, for very valid reasons.........

Now that's funny!!!! I think the glue fumes from sticking on that AMG badge might be starting to get to ya dude, cos I see lots of merit in your revinning it as a E39 540is auto...........now THAT is sooooooooooooo gonna be rarer than rocking horse poos...........

I think ya should be sending your cats, (preferably fast post stamps rather than snail mail), through to Gareth - 2 birds one stone sorta thing ae.............then enter into a scorched earth type program with a really goooood insecticide mixed up a bit stronger than the directions indicate (because, as we know, directons / instructions are only a rough guide anyway, & anythink worth doing is worth a decent nudge.......)

Any retard can drive an auto - theres no skill level or mechanical empathy or knowledge required for that............

Hey man! Yeah was most likely. Scary kms but omg immaculate and the only reason for selling was because it had started to get neglected driving wise. He told me when he boughy it brand new he bought it to keep it for the duration of its useful life and now he has decided its time to part with it. Still has original anti theft radio code pin cards and all! He sold it for so cheap aswell!!

Yea yea, I know - just in the listing bit it has it as 'automatic', which cracked me up, regardless of SMG etc........personally I'd prefer a E39 M5...........to me the E60's look bulky & I dunno, theres something 'weird' about their styling that doesn't spin my wheels for me - its not as if its been given a good hiding with 'the ugly stick', but I dunno, I wouldn't call it gorgeous looking...............to be fair some colours look better / worse than others though IMO........and its technically complicated if / when anything goes wrong......I'm sure its quicker than a E39, & more refined yada yada yada, but they're missing some 'soul' or something IMO.......

To me, its like 'M5' and 'automatic' just don't really compute properly for some reason............
