  2. It shouldn't be too hard. there's only a few wires to change. Just be aware that some guides have features your car may or may not have, I would use the ETK's from each car (yours, and the donor) and match them up
  3. I received my carsoft-compatible scanner today. Having some issues with the E34 where it's idling extremely low when it's cold (fine when it warms up) Unfortunately I can't read German. or copy and paste out of the carsoft program, save it and open it in notepad. My interpretation of the problem is the DME has a faulty temp sensor attached? why it came up under EGS (transmission?!) is not a question Im qualified to answer. and the Trans program emergency mode was probably me when one day I unplugged the TPS when the car was running. - Wouldn't put it past the car having a faulty TPS either. also got an ABS fault (doesn't come up on cluster) If anyone has any comments apart from "get something that knows what they are doing" (I already know this!) would be appreciated ha.

  8. I'm using a Knock-off filter but seems to be good quality from Milland (trademe) but it might be easier for you to just get a genuine unit from the dealer. (comes with the seals needed) and Penrite HPR 10w-50 Full Synthetic (I was surprised to see this when I bought it, it never use to be) $46 / 5L I bought two bottles. One just about filled my M50B25. I think that oil is around $75 / 5L usually.

  15. Hmm. I see. I found my car with 2L Auto used as much fuel as my 2.5L Auto. But if you aren't planing on modifying I've found the auto to be pretty good.. compared to other 20 year old autos.
  16. Hmm... If I were you and looking for an E30 now. Never quite got around to doing a manual conversion.. I'd flag getting a 320i Auto, at least get a manual one. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-456813692.htm Guy reckons he's done heaps of work, and comes with spares.. maybe worth a look? I guess living up north with all the good wreckers helps.

  20. It's possibly dirty, or just stuffed. they are cheap enough to get from a wrecker, or even try pulling it apart and cleaning it up with some contact cleaner. The Interior lights are just a generic festoon bulb, the longer ones. I forget the name.
  21. Koni do a shorter standard shock. I have the full size ones and (king springs) 30mm lower, and that's fine. It's actually piss easy to do shocks and springs on an E30. Any GOOD Mechanic should be able to I'd say, or somewhere like Autolign. E30 Race Series cars use Konis and some form of King Springs, so they aren't bad. Wouldn't piss around with Compressed springs myself...
  22. Possibly have a vac leak for it to be idle surging.. mine was real bad... ALL the Vac hoses had holes/f**ked. and replaced the clip/oring under the inlet manifold which is a whole FOURTEEN dollars at the dealer, worth changing.
