Looks pretty good to me rich, I think I brake somewhere around the 100m sign but some people brake later. Personally I use third gear. If your car doesn't feel stable braking later maybe its a setup thing?

Very very tragic. RIP Dan Wheldon.

That is one heck of an aero package....awesome.

Sorry to hear that. Will there still be transponders available for hire at Icebreaker?
-
Bump. The used one I got the other day doesn't close properly either, even with a good dousing in CRC. Someone must have one of these lieing around, Cheers Michael
-
Hi Glenn, yes I'm sure. It was all 100% clean before being put together and the coolant lines are getting warm. I still need one if someone has one, cheers

Hi all, I'm looking for a prefacelift E30 idle up valve for a 320i, this is the bit under the intake manifold which has two water hoses and two air hoses going into it. Its like a little thermostat the idles the engine up when cold. I'm sure someone knows what I mean, Cheers Michael

Bump. Still looking for a facelift headlight. Cheers

Hi All, I'm looking for a headlight for a facelift E30 (because the electrical plugs fit)....the inner light on the passenger side. I'd be happy to look at a complete headlight (both of them) with plastic support, or just a light that screws in. Doesn't need to be smiley or anything flash. Cheers, Michael

Cheers Heath, problem is I don't have the rubber 'guide' bit either so thought it might be easier to get a complete used one.

I need a pre facelift 320i E30 throttle cable (and the rubber guide and bolt for the end) pretty urgently. Does anyone in Auckland have one they could spare? Cheers Michael
-
I think the plug is called a C101 if that's any help. There should be some useful part numbers here, http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E30/2-do...ng_connections/

Thanks a lot Jon, PM sent

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a PFL engine loom with the C101 plug (The big round 'twist together' plug next to the fuse box). I understand many late PFL E30's had this loom. Needs to be in good condition and complete. I have just bought James' (nismo's) LJet 320i to use for an LJet conversion, but it seems to have the older style plug. Can trade parts off that car or cash (ie lights, panels, wheels, trim, etc). Cheers Michael

I'm on the lookout for a complete LJet conversion for the racecar. Not 100% sure if I'm going to go ahead yet but it's looking likely. I would need all the parts that are involved, I don't know if this includes coolant hoses or a different thermostat housing or anything?? Conversions not complete with wanky slide valve will not be considered. Any advice on how to go about the conversion is appreciated. Cheers

I agree with this. Even with your current engine and 11xrwhp you should be able to do something in the 1:25s or 1:26s.

Awesome videos. That thing really goes. -
I don't think its a great idea, cutting a hole in the firewall could make getting WOF's hard, it might need a cert. Like you've said the induction noise would get annoying pretty quickly. One of more windows would need to be down a bit or you'd get a lot of intake pressure drop. At best the air inside the cabin will be the same as outside, but probably more (yes the car might have air conditioning but this can't cool that volume of air plus it uses HP to work). You also can't make use of any 'ram' air characteristics of an air intake (this only matters at about 200kph+ anyway). I would say if there was any advantage to it then every race team out there would be using one.

AKG motorsport make excellent bushes. http://www.akgmotorsport.com/ You could look at doing the subframe bushes as well as the trailing arm bushes.

AKG motorsport make a great product

I'm not too keen to start bending the hard lines, but you I'm sure what your saying could be done. Still for sale, for drum rear owners and disc rear owners wanting to attempt DRTE30's mod
-
Bump. Lip found, thanks Andrew. Still after proportioning valve from disc rear E30...and radiator shroud from South African E30. Cheers

I purchased the wrong braided brake lines for the E30, I got the 4 line set for drum rear instead of the 6 line set . These are Goodridge branded, DOT approved with necessary labels and have never been installed or used. They require no cert for road use. Looking for $160. Also, if anyone is interested in kart racing, I'm selling an Arrow AX8 BMax rolling chassis. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=305786150
