How much they worth? Price went up pretty fast.
-
Oh yeah, I'll look into that cheers. And when I had my Pulsar, the WOF guy would go "reverse please" etc when checking tail lights - but with this car, both guys didnt even ask or say anything so just curious.
-
Have passed 2 WOFs and 1 of them was to remove a Pinky and no one asked or even cared that the Reverse Lights didnt work. Was told by some jokers on Trademe MB that these older models dont require RL's for WOFs so I removed the Bulbs but yeah didnt get asked by 2 different Inspectors. But since its bound to reduce my resale value, would anyone know why it may not work? I am Not asking for a complete Diagnosis as thats impossible thru the net, but just any kind of ideas? Been told it could be: -Connection in gearstick/box? But I dont see any lose wires. -Bulbs, but they are fine, just removed them. -Wire in the actual tail light assembly, but nothing is missing or disconnected. -Fuses - but checked them all & none are blown. So what else could it by - just off the top of your head? Is this a common problem with the E30's or '88s or 318i's? I wil take to a Sparky one day when I have the $$ but would like to try solve problem myself first if possible, to save some $$. And the Pinky WOF Inspector said I needed a HiStop Light which I installed then all good. But never said a word about the RL's - so seems pretty cocky. Cares about 3rd Brake but not RLs...odd.

What should my Boss Kit look like.
Shady replied to Random Guy's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Yep those Bosskits are mint as. They fit perfect (was a bit of a tight fit but I got it on without any damage) and my wheel fits mint too. See here for photos of mine on page 3: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3263926/3 scroll down until you see the red/black steering wheel. That Bosskit is from that infinity guy off trademe. -
haha. I wanted to use it, cos it removed the old factory paint...took back to almost bare alloy and made them really clean - cheaper than soda or sand blasting.
-
Returning from the dead... Anyone know where to get these? Or got any that are mint lying around?
-
Pink sticker gone now Got it for having cut springs The wheel is Red n Black, get it right lol found it on Trademe won it for $15 + $10 Post and its as new. Bosskit was $55 off that infinitey guy. Just got myself a BMW horn button now, looks good. More on my car here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3263926 And the boot looks nice I reckon - see that link above for photos. Heaps of dents were bogged up (can see before & after photos), looked ruff before my mates went at it, it looks way better. Was meant to be Gloss black but the Matt black has grown on me now lol. Am going to repaint it again (Mattblack) but clearcoat it this time so its smooth.

Just go for the paint that can be sprayed straight on baremetal. I never used primer and its still mint as. I dont think the calipers get as hot as we all think they do - when I roll around, I go out for a few hours and use my brakes alot (of course) so would heat up a bit I'd say, and no sign of wear or peel at all...
-
Nick021. Is the lip on "mybmw" photo, for an E30? If not, have you got any of them?
-
Is it the heat from the engine, lifting the bog? What do I use - weld a patch over it?
-
Probably not, cos I have never seen the brands Bunnings sell, stocked at any other retailer.
-
yeah but then I might go deep and leave gouge marks in it? Have to redo bonnet anyway as the bog in the badge hole has popped up (you can see the ring - see photo) and if you look close in person can see deep scratch marks in the front of bonnet where they bogged it. Mates done it, so all good though haha. Redo it one day when I can be f--ked. Is de-solv-it expensive - where would I buy from?
-
Oooo. Be careful! Im not sure what type your using, but I put some Mr Muscle ovencleaner on a mates rims a while ago, then washed it off 10mins later and a patch of paint came off! I even used it on my standard 14s and it took the colouring off them! Not sure if it would eat the chrome, but I suggest to try a spot not so obvious first! It is pretty lethal sh-t, breathe the fumes or splash ya self & you'll know about it!
-
I ripped all of that spongy stuff off of the inside of my bonnet, and it left a glue behind which I dont really want to scrape off as I dont want to scratch or damage the bonnet. What would be ideal to remove this crap without being at it all day? Has anyone else removed this crap of there bonnet - what worked for you? Just looks so damn ugly when I pop the bonnet I want it gone.
-
Will have to look into that. I'd like to make evetything on the car work, just like my Reverse lights dont work haha but passed a WOF?! So all good. May just go to a Sparky one day and get them to wire all the stuff that aint wired properly and get lights that dont work, to work etc. Would like to make this mint as so when I sell her, I get my moneys worth. A few things to replace on it to make it mint, but gives me something to do and learn.

Sorry thread jack, but what could I use to Polish the Chrome around the windows? hey arent painted chrome, just very shiny silver metal I guess from factory. They are pretty dull when you look at them close up, from a distance look all good. Any recommendations on what I should/could use to shine them up, buff them etc?
-
I painted all 4 of mine, didnt remove them I just painted them on the car, paint just eventually burnt off the rotors when I used the brakes and painted them black. I bought a paint especially made for directly put on metal as it has Primer in the paint like a 2 in 1. Painted them with about 3 coats so is very thick. has no shown any evidence of wearing off or melting. I forgot what its called, but Repco/SCA and most paint specialists sell them. Prices are about $10-$20 a can depending where you go. I paid $20at a paint shop and a BIG can, 3 coats per caliper (x4) and had heaps left! Dries fast too. EDIT:- Has been well over a month now since I painted them, and still looks nice n fresh whenever I remove my wheels and wash the calipers. Looks shiny as.

Anymore coming in? To suit E30 like above post?
-
No E30? Would any of them fit the E30 cluster? 2x small & 2x big rings. The E38/39/53 almost look the same. Got the dimensions?
-
Wow they look pretty mack for standard rims. Might think of doing that on mine. I just painted mine black when my mates painted the whole car matt black for me. Might look into doing something like that...looks nice. As for post #1, how come matt black grill n bumpers? Looks kinda odd. I'd have gone Gloss Black. And why do some many people paint their chrome grills? I prefer the chrome...

Yep f--king bullsh-t mate. Hit one of those round things gas stations pump gas thru into the underground tanks. The one it hit was pretty high! And only me and one other person in the car so wouldnt have made it drop much lower than 100mm while driving. Literally tore it apart, see my other thread "smashed sump".
-
yep i tell no lies! Tyres were about 28/32psi so I pumped up to 45psi and made the sump sit at 110mm where as it was at 95mm lol. So that extra 20odd psi raised it 15mm...
-
In my first photo the bar you see is going straight across under the sump. I have arranged with another guy on here who is going to send me the lot (both parts as this is a 2 part sump). I should be able to sus a hoist for Sunday otherwise will just Hire one. Can arrange for you to come look at it tomorrow or Friday - I finish work at 230pm so anytime after 3pm should be fine. Wont be able to do until Sunday anyway as my mate is putting a new engine in his Primera in my garage and we are hoping to start that tomorrow. Will text you.
-
Thats why I put a (?) by the price as I have no idea whats needed to install it. I dont know if im going to bother yet the major stuff as I am going to sell it once I fix my sump. Will get back to you about the other parts.
-
Dont need superlows. I bought some 2nd hand jamex and car dropped 3"! And the springs werent cut or compressed at all. Unless you want it on its ass. My sump was under 100mm until I pumped my tires up hard to pass a wof lol. But all good until I smashed it...
