Whoever buys it before inspecting it, is asking for trouble. I bet it would cost more than a new one to repair it!??? Thats almost the entire side that is rusted, more than a bit of panelbeating! More like rip the whole side off & reattach a new side...

Scrap it

For real? Damn. So have to spend $$$. Oh well.
-
Sweet! Now I know why some are missing, cos the car dont even need them! Cheers

Can someone give me instructions on how to do this... I know its well & truely due but I aint gonna pay no workshop to do it when I know I could do if told how! I already done my shocks & springs, fanbelt & powersteering belt so might as well keep doing it all myself! So can someone explain how to do it? And what do I flush it with, or do I just drain it?

Aaah. Got it! The bottom spring pad on the froint left was not on properly. Just twisted the spring (yes, was very tight but I did it) and the pad then sat properly. Went for a nice long drive and the knocks & rattles are now gone. As simple as that! I think I should replace all the pads (front & back) anyway as they are all pretty shot. Cheers for the suggestions guys

SF thanks so much! Will print that out & go have a nosey tomorrow, but I think I know now why some are missing just by reading that! Thanks so much!

I reckon it looks pretty staunch. I agree to get rid of the vents in the skirts, but everything else, go for it! Its your car, we given our opinions, but the only one that matters is YOURS. If you like it, go for it! You the one driving it everyday.

How do you bleed it? Would of thought you'd just put new one in & put back together and start her up?

Does anybody know where I could find the fuse Diagram for my 318? I notice a few are missing, but dont notice anything in or on the car not working? Oh and Im referring to the fuse box in the engine bay (passenger side) with the small 20, 15, 10, 7.5 fuses etc. Just want to know what is for what & what the missing ones are for
-
Yep they are back in. I will jack car up tomorrow (if sunny) after work and take some photos of front & back. See if any of you notice something not quite right?
-
I assume I need to drain the radiator, as the water goes thru it? Or can I block it some how?
-
Thanks SF! Will go have a look now, if I figure it out, will try do tomorrow. Thanks

I had that problem first time I drove mine (I was used too Jappas!) Now when I jump into mums van or car, I get wipers going instead of Indicators

As for it costing You to take action, if he doesnt agree to pay up, you can then sue him for expenses - but they may be another Law yet again to do that - but they can then request the Judge (or whoever does it) orders the Crim to pay the Legal fees for both parties. My understanding anyways.

I see. Will get back later when i know what I need, as have a few people wanting to sell me what I need. So am going for who is cheapest & freight expense etc.

E30 '88 318i. Have just (well a few weeks ago) put lowered springs in, all captive etc as passed a Pinky WOF. But car makes rattling noises & knocks etc but cant tell if its from the Front Left or Rear Left (sorry!) But I know its coming from the LEFT Side (driverside makes no noises at all!) But anybody know what it could be? What I should be looking at to figure it out? What other info can I supply to help? I know all bolts are TIGHT as I done it myself, and as I said, it passed a Pinky WOF so surely nothing is dodgy!? Anybody know what it could be? I have on factoryl 14" rims with good as-new tyres & 32psi all round. And also.... How do I flush the powersteering system? I need to fully flush it as when I got it, the fluid was BLACK (alsmost like it was used engine oil!) So I sucked out as much as I could (using a bottle, not my mouth ) and didnt do bugger all. Anybody able to give me instructions on how to flush it?

Hey, anybody able to tell me where I can find this (in the engine) and how to replace it? Im sure I need to do it, as temp guage goes all over the place & I have no idea what previous owner has done (eg maintenance) and I have decided to start doing work to it myself. Have just done the Fanbelt (didnt read how, just done it haha, good on me & car going fine) . Just need info on the Thermostat?

Dealt directly with the Police? Thats just stupid. What kind of Country/State does that? If you deal with the Cops directly, you'll never have a chance. At least over here your Innocent til proven Guilty, even if everyone knows that you did drive the car!

Sorry to hear that. Cant say I've heard of that happening in NZ. Me and a lot of my mates, have lost our licence at least once for Demerit Points, but if they dont come door knocking and you are on file as "suspended" they do not actually class you as driving while disqualified until a Balif(sp?) or Police Officer has told you and/or taken your Licence (can be done on the road side - they follow you home if noone else can drive) or Balif comes door knocking - if you are caught driving and you have already handed your Licence over, then yep you broke the Law no matter what (instant impound 28days & Court hearing face extra 6mths - I've been there done that). But sorry to hear about what they done to your daughter . Some Police need to realise we are all Human & to pick on the REAL Criminals (thats for all cops in every country!)

I was looking at a car on Cardomain and the guy had photos of how he made a mould for his bodykit, just using various materials then after making the one off mould he then made his bodykit with 'glass and dont know what happened with his one off mould. He reckons it was his first time, and his car was completely rebuilt by himself (and his wife) - it was a full-on showcar. So yeah, it is possible make your own moulds but I guess if you are going to make more than a couple kits, bets to make it proper. EDIT: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2394722/9 heres his "how-to" build a bodykit. He didnt exactly make a mould, just made the shape? And its probably not a car many of you would like, but hey, its fully custom. I reckon its pretty full on for a home job! Not many people can say they made a car look this good, all by themselves - wish I could do that! Maybe one day.
