  1. http://www.goodyear.co.nz/latestnews.asp?id=31 Have not seen 205 55 15 , the 16inch was available with the 55 profile. The link above may shed some light Here in Australia I called around getting quotes for the same tyres, prices ranged in a difference of 100 bucks per tyre!! K-mart were the worst, I ended up saving $360.00 on the set.
  2. I spent months reading reviews and shopping around, finally decided on Goodyear Eagle F1 Gs D3 size 205 50 16, Only had them for a week, high resistance to aqua- planing was pretty high on my list, and I got a better price than for similar Yokohama. These are very popular choice on 3 and 5 series. Its pretty early yet to say, but the ride and handling are a big improvement. :thumb:
  3. Its gonna take me some time to get around to this, for the sake of keeping the viehcle closer to original it appeals to me. When I thought about swapping the engine I was told the 320i engine wasnt much sought after and therefore I couldnt expect much for it if I tryed to sell it , which made me think, I should be able to buy one pretty cheap then. So to enable me to keep it on the road while having the work done maybe I will source a seperate motor first or car..... If a 2.5 conversion was done could you use the stock 325i pistons, would it be a bit more straight forward? I have virtually no expereince pulling apart or rebuilding an engine. So excuse me for all the questions, just trying to do some research.
  4. I read that article, I have a copy of that issue, initially I thought I understood that what would be required was the cylinder head from a 325i, 325e or 525e and a forged crankshaft. But I was led to believe that the 320i block was not suitable by some other source? So I was a bit confused about the feasability. So you reckon, one of those heads and a crankshaft is a good start?
  5. I have a 88 320i sport , with a good motor recent timing belt change. Could probally swap in a 325i engine ... but has anybody bored and stroked the 2.0 to 2.3 I have heard that is all you can do to increase the B20 engine. Can parts be sourced from an earlier 323i M20 engine?
  6. So is it the same for the E30, inner upper, right side of glovebox? Do people tend to brake the bulb and or the socket? I will go have another look it was a couple of days ago now. that I checked.
  7. Mmm, on that note I think I will pick up a fire extinguisher tommorrow I saw some on special, it woud be cool to see someones car on fire and be able to run up to them with a fire extinguisher! Not so cool if theyre smoking or the car explodes!
  8. I was wondering wether my late model E30 should have light inside the glovebox, I can see the switch opposite the compartment door but I cant see the light, should there be light? Or am I looking for something that is not there?
  9. An interesting diagnosis to a recurring problem with the power windows and arial in my E30. For some weeks the fuse that protects the demister, power windows arial and cigarette lighter kept blowing. this shuts down the function of these circuits. Tonight I was fixing my car stereo when I heard an arcing sound from around the front ashtray, I removed the two screws that hold the cigarette lighter trim in place and low and behold, a five cent piece had slipped form the tray under the trim and was shorting the positive terminal to the case of the ciggarette lighter. The coin had numerous electrical burns all over it. So if you have this problem and you leave loose change in this compartment it may be worth checking. My five cents worth.
