If you look at the boot of the e39, everything is different. The hinges are outside the opening and don't swing into the boot. The loom is still inside the opening, but well protected. Obviously the germans learn from their mistakes. Speaking of boot lids: Brent, do you have a spare plastic "nut" to secure the top of the tool kit to the boot lid? Mine has been missing since I got my car, and I want to rebuild the tool kit

You'll need Pantone 021C in that case

Don't bother with memory stick. Sony have a bad habit of creating their own 'standards' which no one else uses, driving the costs up. Plus they use another proprietary format for digital music, which again, no one else uses. Look at PSP and their online music store Connect. I've never looked, but do our cars have line in? Shouldn't be too hard to make your own iPod adaptor if they do.

I see very few other 535's on the road as it is, let alone 5 speed versions. This is the global production of the 5 and 7 series, but it does not list gearbox or options. It tells us that ~16% of the e34 were 535's, and I have read that only 5% of those were 5 speed: around 0.8% of the e34 were 5speed 535's

Sick mate! What does the heavier engine do to the handling? Keep the badge on! I'm forever looking at the tail of other bimmers. If its been debadged, I automatically think its a 318 or 525 (no offence to those who own these)

Back on topic... Looking good Brent. What do you intend to do with it? You could probably crack a million kays if you tried hard enough, your almost half way

Roads in the Uk are a little different to what we have here guys. There was another case like this a few years ago wasn't there? Guy with a supercar gets caught at nuts speed, has extensive racing experience, uses this in court to get the dangerous part of the offence dropped?

From what I understand, the ECU reads the exhaust gasses after the cat to check your not killing the planet, and will make changes to the mixture and timing accordingly. If the ECU sees a reading way outside what it can correct for, it goes into limp mode. I think you can get a small electronic box that fools the ECu into thinkning the cat is running perfectly, but I'm not sure.

Full cover for my baby People driving around without insurace is completely mad. All it takes is one lapse in concentration and your looking at a massive repair bill.

Probably pig iron instead of 316.

So I finally got around to pulling my DME out and had the eprom copied by the techs at work without any problems. I've emailed the code to Mark at EAT and hes working on a chip for our non-cat, non 02 cars! I should have the results by middle of next week. :mosh:

I think I'd rather have an M5 v10 than the blown 4.4 v8 tho. Can you imagine what that thing sound like at full noise? :mosh:

How did you get your hands on th build sheet Paul? I'd be interested to see the sheet for mine, I think it has all the option except the M seats, kit, suspension and badges. Don't think it has keyless entry installed either, but I may be wrong.

Like what? :puke:

Wouldn't it look better with some stickers? Maybe a Typr-R badge or something :puke:

From memory, HID's add at least 10hp. Angel Eyes will usually add another 5hp
