  1. The hard shift down to 1st seems to be a common fault in the E60's.

    On occasion ours does it after sitting in creeping traffic. Is apparently a sign of the car spending most of its life in traffic. Common for a lot of Jap cars.

    We have an E60 530D and my father has a W211 E55 AMG. And unless you have the suspension set to Sport 2 I find the Merc wallows a little too.

    But the E60 feels a lot cheaper than the E55. Must be material quality. The AMG seats are also much much better than the E60 sport seats.

    Can't talk to the AMG seats but definitely run the airmatic on sports II otherwise it's to bigger difference to the E61 which is fairly brilliant all round


  2. Hmmm, very tempted to view one. A respectable one can be had for under 11k these day. Id want to lower it and put e63 front on it though. I see there is a e55 w211 on TM for 18k which seems like a deal for 500bhp! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=854153251

    Yeah the 500s are good, not the punch of our 550 having 60 less horses but still more smack then anything you can get for the price, I put a UK aftermarket head unit in it as well as the jap radio will be useless, expect 700 to 1000 to address this.

    Get right on 10l /100 k so damn good on gas but I'm mainly open road driving as well.

    E55 would definitely be dreamy...

  3. This likely won't happen till there is international agreement on how to do this, it'll happen but not any time soon.

    It'll be When the big guys want it to happen and that's not likely cause it'll reduce their exports so wouldn't even expect anything soon, every country is having the same issues
