I've recently sold my e30s for silly prices and decided to pick up a very tidy e46 330ci. Only downside of the car is the gearbox. My questions are, how much am I expected to pay to have it converted to manual? ( My skill set probably won't meet the criteria and I have zero spare time for this type of project) second question would be, who in the wellington region would you recommend for this conversion?

Appreciate any help. Very curious at this stage.

I think it would be worth it. It’s a brilliant car. The gearbox prices will slowly keep increasing so might as get it done now than say in 4-5 years when the parts will be more difficult to find and labour costs will go up.

Great pick up Rohan, was very tempted myself!

I really really like the Birchwood interior trim, looks sooo much better than the Jaguar-spec brown wood that kiwi new coupes seem to have been afflicted with.

Thanks mate. I really didn’t want one in silver.  The Monaco blue was just stunning to look at.  I paid just over $8k for it.

I know of an exceptional 330ci the owner would be willing to trade (plus Kidney) for an E30 / E28  🤣

Seriously though, a nice F20 would be a great daily.

Yep the F20 with the Msport option is a sure winner but that engine is pretty basic.

A 130i would be awesome as well. But the shape is not as nice as an E46 coupe.

  4. I think the 2JZ is cool - because it’s different but the body kit ruins it IMO. It just doesn’t suit an Euro.  But hey - people are going gaga over RWB Porsches. Each to their own.

For $75k I would rather get an E24 M6. Or even an S54 powered E30 could be had with change in hand.

I'm all for e30's - but there is no way that mtech II is a $50k driving experience. I guess that's not what people are paying for, (but they are so...)

I am starting to feel this way a bit too. $50k = E46 M3/Z4M coupe money.  But I feel an E30 M3 is not worth $80k or that houses in Manurewa are not worth $1m but the demand is there and that’s what counts at the end of the day.
