  1. Considering getting Konis for my e30, along with some H&R Races, however, just wondering if I need a cert for the konis seeing as they are adjustable. If anyone has any info it'd be much appreciated.
  2. Hey guys. My radiator is broken and I'm trying to source a replacement but apparently the pfl 320i rad is pretty uncommon and hard to find. If I want to swap to a facelift radiator what will I need? Or alternatively could I fit a 325i pfl radiator with the stock hoses and setup or will it require a different set up? Cheers
  3. Hey guys Just bought this e30. I haven't driven it yet but my dad has and he reckons there's a chance the timing could be off. He sent me this picture: And this video of the car running: He says when pulling in 4th at low rpms it makes a ticking noise. Here's an audio recording, it occurs at 1:17, 2:17, 2:21, 2:35, 2:42, 3:18, and 3:22: Anyone have any ideas?
  4. Yeah it's prefacelift. When I get back home I'll see how straight I can try and get it borrowing some of my mate's panel beating stuff but if I can find a good solid valance I might as well.
  5. Just bought an e30 but the night before I was gonna view the guy accidentally hit a lamp post while driving... Decided I'd go for it anyway since I'd been looking for so long. Anyway will need a new bumper and a new valence and maybe some other stuff depending on how bad it really is. I can't take anything apart yet because I won't pic the car up from my parents' place for another 2 weeks but it looks like all I'll need is the valance and a new bumper (and maybe that plastic bit behind there). The centre grille is still there and seems to be mostly fine.
  6. m20b25 swapped 320i, seems alright: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1519509414.htm?rsqid=56df7921f3284c1eb6c0a558ebaa6a43
  7. Bump, would proably also take an auto, as long as 6 cyl... Anyone have a look for difference between 6 and 4 cyl?

I love watching it. I'm surprised more people don't talk about it or that it isn't more popular to be honest. Great video and audio quality with a good host and an interesting topic. Much better than the car shows you see on TV nowadays with all the fake drama.
  9. Would the box be able to handle the power of the m52b28tu though?
  10. So if they're all the same that makes the 318 the best to use as a base for a swap, due to cheaper prices, right? It means I wouldn't have to hold out for a cheap auto 320/325 coupe, just for a cheap, decent auto fl 318 coupe. Does anyone know if the 318 manual box will mate with m20s or m52s?
  11. I mean I would be keen on an m52b28tu swap, it's been very documented all over the web so it wouldn't be an exact mystery on how to do it. When you say you redid the brakes do you mean you installed larger brakes or just went through and fixed everything? I was under the impression that 320s and 325s did have larger/better brakes than the 4 cyl models. That means as a base, unless you upgrade brakes, the 320s and 325s are better anyway for engine swaps right?

  13. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1442364023.htm I'm sorry but 20k for a 4 door auto 318 e30? Maybe he's added an extra 0 on accident because I wouldn't even see that car selling for half or even a quarter.
  14. lol is that on oldschool? That's me bro.
  15. Don't have a bimmer yet. Still pining an e30 2 door 6 cyl hard but the trifecta of good, cheap, and close is hard to match... Anyway here's my Simca 1501. One of 25 station wagon models sold in New Zealand, and one of, I think, only 2 left. I dailyd it for a long time after my Corolla got stolen. It had bad fuel economy, it drove like a boat, the steering was bad, and much more, but I liked it. Good vibes. I guess most of you won't care about this but feel kind of bad for just posting only in the wanted section and want to participate a bit more in the forum.
  16. Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense? Are you talking about the 4 door on trademe? It looks nice but I'm specifically looking for a 2 door.
  17. wait what do you mean by "plf gor"?
  18. Wow that was a mint car. I mean I am looking for something as mint as I can find, but with grandpa spec I meant more unmolested and original rather than completely mint. I wouldn't mind something a bit rough around the edges as long as it wasn't too bad. I mean I am still trying to find a 6 cyl manual coupe for 6k-7k, and somewhere you have to make sacrifices, even if to me a car for that money already seems expensive.
  19. Yeah it seems to be like that. Ah well, time is on my side, for now. Scanning Facebook, here, and other webforums, for anything, but it's hard to find someone willing to sell.
  20. Bump. This an unrealistic price point? Anything 2 door and 6 cyl considered at this point.
  21. Hi all! Looking for a manual 6 cyl e30 coupe. Got around 6k to spend. Preferably something unmolested and grandpa spec. Will probably have to keep looking for a while at this price point though. Might take an auto too if it's coupe 6 cyl and cheap enough. Preferably North Island. Cheers
  22. @olaf and @allan: I mean you guys aren't wrong... The Corolla has done 388 000 kms and it has zero rust. I reckon it is one of the cleanest examples of a ke70 you can find in NZ. Completely mint interior, no cracks on dash. 0 rust anywhere on the car. Engine is going strong, gearbox is going strong, no diff whine. Even got the original jack and tool kit and owners manual. That being said, it is more gutless than my Simca and I am looking for something a little faster, while keeping it retro and cool. @kepes Yeah it's 35mm film. Portra 400. Got a bit more pics of my cars if you want to see them. Also yeah that's nice but it's about $9k too expensive still. Looking to spend around $6k, maybe a bit more. Nearly bought a pre-facelift 325i manual coupe off of one of my dad's colleagues for $5k but his son in law convinced him to keep it (sucks, we'd agreed on the deal and I'd already started clearing my Toyota stocks). I'd be alright buying an auto, just as long as it's 6 cyl, mostly unmolested and North Island.
  23. Hi there everyone! I currently have two non BMW cars: A 1970 Simca 1501 Wagon And a 1988 Toyota Corolla: I am currently looking at selling my Corolla and buying an e30 coupe. Looking for a manual, 6 cyl coupe if anyone knows anything. While I like my Corolla I am looking for something... more. Thanks for having me here.
