Optional extras (wont be sold separately prior, but could take names): Purchased the M3 Lower control arms, tension arms and headlight adjustment rod Revshift transmission mounts (80A durometer) – fitted but removed straight away as a little too much vibration for a nice quiet road car.

Looking for a front towing eye cover. Prefer blue but any colour will do if in good nick. Don't want to wait months for an Ali one. Tks, John.

130i Radiator removal Is there a secret to removing the top and bottom radiator hoses that are retained by the clip. As each end is plastic, I dont want to force things too much but they wont even start to move. Do I need to go to the gym or is there a trick to getting them off? Doing Waterpump and Thermostat replacement and apparently radiator has to come out first? Cheers, John

Thanks Dan I did search for vids but none had that locking tab. Nuts and bolts I can do all day but unusual bits like this tab or upholstery clips/tabs etc play with my head 😁 Will see if I an get someone a bit more adept at this stuff over, and watch and learn...

Cheers Dave, gave up on the Tension arm, think I have stripped the bolt thread somehow as it doesn't seem to be undoing or doing up when I turn it. Both sides of that housing broke off while attempting to undo it. Off to yell at the walls....tomorrow is another day. Will have a go at the mounts tomorrow once my focus returns.

Thanks Dan, reason I posted that pic was that nut started turning inside the surrounding bracket. Will try and get some vice grips up there to keep them together.. Noted re tightening gearbox mounts, I'll review the vibration once fitted as the car will get to do sealed autocrosses at my track (Ruapuna) after the grass season, however it is primarily my daily so will wait and see. Okay, here is the first gotcha for the M3 LCA upgrade (Can a Mod tell me if this should be in the Maintenance thread or 130i) Attempting to undo the chassis end of the tension arm - see pic. When undoing the bolt I noticed the strange clip/bolt retainer thing on the other end. Do I just keep undoing the bolt, or should I remove this thing first (and if so, how??) Does anyone have a link to a "how to" video? Thanks, John

Bit if a c... up ordering the M3 gearbox mounts for my 130i. Thought I would be clever and get some polyurethane ones from FCP Euro (Revshift PTM-BT 80A) but upon removing the old ones, notice they need a bit of "flexibility" when removing/installing in/out of the slots in the mount - see pic. Of course the Urethane ones dont move, so am stuck having to re-order standard rubber M3 mounts. If you have done this before and have a better idea, I am all ears. Cheers, John

OK, so I have to ask the question Dan seeing as I own one... Why the " if you can live with pre-lci "-- is it not as good as "LCI"? - or all down to personal preference? Be interested to understand the differences other than what Wiki says (electric power steer, revised bumpers and interior changes -whatever they are) Is there a link on here?

Hi Chris Getting onto the M3 LCA's - are these the ones you fitted to your 130i? (see attached Amazon part numbers) Is it a simple swap over, and should I be looking at anything else while there (low cost options only at this stage) Any special tools required? Just completed the following: Rocker cover gasket kit incl new bolts Drive belt, tensioner, idler Oil filter and Oil cooler gaskets 5L antifreeze Decided to leave the Sump gasket, Thermostat and Water pump for now as no apparent issues. Also forgot about the DISA check until too late! From a "noobie" experience, I found it all quite daunting, the on-line videos were helpful and some unhelpful Videos dont tell you how to undo all the clips (some were obvious, others mind-numbing) and how much wiring to remove so there was enough access to lift the rocker cover off. In the end I found George Austers guide the most helpful (he has other guides, also used his CDV delete one with success!)

Hi Chris, thanks for replying. If I understand this correctly, the icon just represents what is shown to the right? (average trip speed) So no alarm bells, that is good to know as I am still getting used to all the functions/settings of the car. (just completed the rocker cover gasket job!)

Hi - as per pic Not sure what the icon in top left corner of lower display means - any ideas, or know where I can find a manual that references it. Tried the web, found plenty of others but not this one. I assume the black outline represents the engine, but cannot figure out what the orange bit through the middle indicates Cheers, John

Has anyone fitted a multi-port cigarette lighter splitter in order to run multiple devices? My 130i has the lighter under the centre armrest. Pain in the butt to run any lead from the dash to there. Want to run a permanent dash cam (with lighter plug), and radar detector on trips. Thinking of running an extension from under armrest to passenger foot well which will connect to multi port lighter splitter. What have others done? Cheers, John

Thought I would offer members a free tyre, payback for help I have received since joining this great forum. Can anyone use one only Bridgestone Potenza RFT (RE050A) 225/45x17 with 6mm tread (other tyre had a nail in it) Location is ChCh.

Will do, although I only fitted the RE003's a few days before the alignment so not a true single comparison from when the runflats were on.
