  1. Well it was good while it lasted. https://blog.fcpeuro.com/fcp-euro-lifetime-replacement-guarantee-update These updates will be going into effect on 11/01/2022: All Lifetime Replacement Guarantee refunds will be issued as store credit On orders placed before 11/01/2022, the original Lifetime Replacement Guarantee policy will still be in effect. Those returns will default to credit but can be converted to cash refunds on request by emailing [email protected] Refunds will be for the price of the original part purchased Example 1: You purchased brake pads for $50.00 in 2020. Those same brake pads now cost $55.00. You will be credited $50 at the time of completion. Example 2: You purchased an oil change kit for $60.00 in 2020. That same oil change kit now costs $48.00. You will be credited $60 at the time of completion.
  2. Damn would of been keen for that. Is it just for the RTAB or does it do the other bushings as well? Ended up biting the bullet and buying my own one so will see how that goes for now. Cheers for the offer though hopefully someone else might be able to use them in the future.
  3. Thanks for the offer! Not sure if they will work though since I have the original OEM RTAB with the flange which makes it tricky to get out for with the round cups I think.
  4. Looking to buy/rent E46 RTAB tool. Got some monoball RTAB's on the way and want to reduce my suffering.

Yeah probably the way to go if I was going to do it again.
  6. Anyone have a RTAB removal tool I could potentially rent off them for a few days? Looking at doing my RTABS before getting an alignment.

TRW, I got this set from FCP euro about 2 years ago. Im not sure if the brand is the problem or its from me driving up unsealed ski access roads (Mt Hutt, Treble Cone, Remarkables...)

Cars now all fixed again. Not sure if they repainted or just got a used door and put that on but it is basically as good as new. I can't see any difference in the paint, the only thing is the door is not perfectly aligned but looks pretty easy to adjust the striker plate so it all lines up perfectly. Have also just forked out for new rear summer tyres since my current ones were absolutely cooked. Now all that is left is to replace the control arms again because there is some play in the balljoints which caused it to fail it's warrant. Luckily I bought them from FCP euro so should be able to get them replaced under the lifetime guarantee which takes a bit of the sting out of it.

😑 Not a happy day up on Coronet yesterday. Some f**kwit in a Nissan backed into me and their tow bar has done that to the 330. To make it more fun I was actually crushed in the door itself since I was grabbing something from the front but am luckily unhurt. Wasnt super f**kin happy about the situation though. The door frame at the top kind of bent around my chest so now it doesn't seal properly but I have managed to bend it somewhat back into shape to try stop it from leaking in the meantime. Now it's wait and see with the insurance, the damage is all on the one door so could be worse, hopefully it doesn't get written off. I am fairly confident that me being alive is evidence that the car is still structurally fine since they were driving pretty slow and the door mostly just bent around the towbar (and around me). It wasn't even a tight car park I have no idea how they f**ked up this bad could of actually killed me christ. It was my good door as well all the others have wellington dents...

Yeah certainly haven't given it the easiest life, was maybe a bit better fit when I was in Wellington rather than down here but I make it work. Super glad I found a 3L one, they seem hard to get these days, it's Fantastic on the roads around here. Just had it up coronet with the chains on tonight to get some more skiing in so the abuse continues 🙃 And yeah bought the Avin directly from them. It would've been an extremely easy install if the previous owner hadn't massacred the wiring harness for the radio on their install. Can highly recommend it though, it looks great in the dash and having carplay with navigation and all it's other features is well worth the price of admission. Certainly makes the car feel much more modern but keeps the OEM look to it.

Been a while since I posted anything but thought I would post some of my rough old wagon. Bought it late 2019 and fixed it up somewhat over the first lockdown. Did a big road trip all over the south island with it in late 2020. Then in early 2021 I moved from Auckland to Queenstown and didn't have access to a garage anymore so it hasn't been getting as much attention as it did when I was trapped at home and had nothing else to do. It's Still running pretty well, has a couple of little things playing up but other than that it's been a good reliable daily. The ski season and access trails haven't been particularly kind to the suspension and a couple of possums have made my bumper a bit mangled (anyone got a silver m-sport one lying around...), and not to mention the various dents that came with it when I bought it. It's been a great car though has served me well over the last couple of years, three cities, and 30,000km. I have picked up a Prado 120 to start doing the ski runs up the remarks and for the trailhead to save my poor car from some more pain. Bonus of the prado is it makes my 330i's consumption feel like a prius... Highlight was having the Milford Road all to myself earlier this year. I Installed an Avin Avant 4, works great and it's good having carplay. My car didn't come with the OEM radio so this has been a huge upgrade for it. Not pictured is the absolute carnage the previous owner had left when they installed their radio. Loaded up with all my sh*t. Cleaned up after the big trip. Whispbars always good. Routeburn trailhead. Another unkind and brutal road. First snow of 2021. Coronet Peak, my preferred mountain since its mostly sealed... And stuck on coronet peak on the most mild of inclines. 🙃 No comment. Bought a set of mint winter tyres for $100. Night and day difference on snow and ice. Extra sidewall helps heaps as well. Big clean after the winter season. The 21 year old paint still has a decent bit of shine. Made a friend. Putting the winters back on for 2022. Can't understate what a difference the winter tyres make down here.
  13. The $4500 I paid for my one back in late 2019 was a pretty good deal in comparison. Just don't ask me how much I have spent on maintenance...
  14. Thanks, I have already replaced the VANOS seals and oil line back when I did the valve cover (also did rattle repair whilst I was in there) so thats all sorted now. Really happy with touring, glad I picked one up rather than the sedan.
  15. Yep, came with the NZ spec where the non-sport has sport seats.
  16. Hey guys, My current tyres are pretty worn out so I am wanting to replace them. When I bought my current rims I got a set of six Style 72 rims, two fronts and four rears. So now that I am replacing the tyres I am struggling to chose between to keeping it staggered with 225/255 or to go to a 235/40/R18 setup. At the moment it has 215/235 tyres. I have test fit the 235/40/R18 on the front and the clearance is pretty tight but from what I have read on some other forums with people running same offset rims it should be fine. Have attached a picture below of how close the strut is to the rim below, does anyone know if this would be an issue or if I might run into any other fitment issues? The style 72 rears are 8.5x18" and have an ET50 offset. The Style 72 fronts are 8x18" and have an ET47 offset. The other part I am trying to decide on is which tyres to get. At the moment I am looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport 4, Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 and the Falken Azensis FK510. Theres only a difference of about $200-300 which isn't massive, so I am just wanting to know if the Michelins are worth the slight premium. Or if anyone else has alternative suggestions I am open to those as well. Thanks guys, appreciate any feedback I get.
  17. Hi there, Picked up an E46 330i Touring a few months ago and have been fixing it up to be a reliable daily. So far I have done the following: - Full cooling system refresh (Including hard lines under the intake manifold) - Front pulleys and drive belts - Power steering reservoir and hoses - CCV Replaced - Intake boots - Oil level sensor - Oil filter housing gasket - Valve cover gasket - Vanos rebuild - New DISA valve - Engine & transmission mounts - Windshield cowl - Transmission filter & fluid - FCAB's - Front control arms - Tie rods - Wheel bearings - Stock sport springs from HellBM - Sport Sway bars from BM World - Koni Special Active shocks on all four corners - Set of Style 72 rims to replace the Style 79 rims that came with the car - Changed differential fluid - Other little minor things around the car What I have got left to do is to replace all the bushings in the rear (If anyone has an RTAB tool I could borrow...) and I am looking at getting some new tyres soon since the ones that came with the new rims are pretty average. Best money spent so far was on the shocks as the originals were completely shot. And having everything in the cooling system replaced is great for peace of mind. For the future it would be nice to swap in a manual, but for now the auto is pretty good for what it is. Only major issues I have had is a tire blowout in Wellington on state highway 1 near the terrace (I think I must of run over something on the motorway), and a fuel line disconnecting itself which left me stranded outside Kumeu (Car didn't catch fire which was good). Overall the experience has been pretty good though, the car's fun to drive and I have learnt a lot during the process.
