Hi all been planning next move on e46,just managed to get pretty much all m3 suspension from a convertible m3. I also have a 05 650 with more modern suspension designed for a v8,would it wrong to adapt that for the e46 or stick with original 46 m3 gear,I'm going to try a push for 500+hp if I have to strengthen all the m3 gear. Options? Is the 650 as good as earlier m3 any knowledge appropriated.

Seats bolt straight in,stoked with that only thing is there tan color. Il probly go lighter seats and possibly no rear seat depending on space required for oil tank and rear strut strengthening.

Are m3 subframes different.

2 hours ago, Gaz said:I think e36 rear shocks have a m3 stamped on them. Ive got a full rear end in storage which I can check once we move to the new house
Allgood got after market shocks, rear trailing arms have m badge cast in them. Front parts have just shown up,New m3 wheel carriers,m3 calipers and discs that think maybe past it. Also m62b44 98 year with alusil id number on the block, the last major part to start the engine build. Internals for motor still to come what they are will depend on what cams i get made and induction.

Front set up is about to arrive.

E46 convertible, already discovered front sway bar is standard, rear is csl 30mm,front 22 should be 26 also have rear subframe not sure if m3 differs from standard.

Hello everyone,is there positive I'd marks on m3 suspension, rear trailing arms have m/// cast into them, finel drive half shafts are around 38-40mm only other thing purple paint on rear sway bar diff head has m003 on it.

Cause I don't know how to do it.

The only thing I'm not really interested in is fp crank, although the crank will be as good as it can get, factory internals will take quite abit.
-
Road car,I'd like to be able to make more, maybe m3 estate or touring what ever, they made one.
-
I am indeed starting a replica,I intend this to be as close to original as possible, the only thing I'm seeing an issue with is the carbon fiber roof.
-
.Greetings, dose any one know of this m60b44 special? Would it be a suitable replacement for p60b40 in a m3 gtr replica?.

I have on 05 650i it's been sitting for a while, found 10 ltrs of water sitting in the rear passenger foot well,do these cars leak obviously, but there's a vent under the seat seem to have a lot of water coming out of it,can this come from a blocked drain hole somewhere.

The wonderful guys at BM Workshop replaced the expansion tank on the 550i without too many issues. Autosure did ask for proof for service history to make sure I was sticking to my service requirements.
Anyway, Sunday morning I went to hop in my car and go for a drive. After parking up at the supermarket for about a half hour, I got back in and the ol' iDrive came up with a low coolant message again. Luckily I lived a 5min drive away so quickly shot home and let it cool down. After an hour or so I opened the expansion tank to find it really low - almost empty (noting that it was filled up when I had the tank replaced). I didn't have any coolant on me, so just topped it up with a bit of demineralized water and left it overnight.
This morning when i went down to the garage I found that the car had leaked coolant all over the floor (hadn't done that in the last few days). Threw a bit more demineralized water into it and drove to BM Workshop (another 5 min drive from me). They checked it out today and informed me that it had a leaking heater tap assembly and is covered under Autosure as well.
Forgive me for not knowing as I have bugger all knowledge of cars/engines etc, but what is the function of a heater tap? How do they work?Assumption is eather a drain or a switch to stop water entering heater core. I have 330i had issues with cooling system, unfortunately the plastic parts all seem to fail at the same time and ensuring you bleed all the air out is a must. Unscrew bleed point keep filling it up till I over flows out the bleed point and the top of expansion tank. Start it up, be ready with coolant as soon as it starts dropping put more in so it can't put any more in.

N62b48,brought a 05 650i with engine problem, previous owner was told needed new engine due to broken intermediate lever arm. Are not broken retainer spring slipped out. Further inspection found crack in #4 cam bearing cap in retainer bridge. Has anyone else seen this.
