  1. Wow thank you, once i figure out what all that means il put it to use. What equipment do i need to use or calibrate these things?. I take a computer/laptop is needed, any type if software/program. Im old school points and distributer stuff.

  2. Writo this is for the tuners and tech experts. Individual throttle bodies, with sensor on each. Each one tuned separately then linked to master sensor.

M60b40 v8 of 4ltr complicity. Adopt the idea of 8 inderviduel 500cc cylinders and tune to maximum performance on each.

    Fed back appreciated.

  3. Performance and knowledge on how to get performance, budget depends on whats out there and at what price,im rebuilding a m54b30,want to increase compression, get the rpms up,people say you cant get much performance out of ITBs,big cams, thats what i want to use, fuel in big bang exhaust out as fast as possible.

    Hi,

    https://www.speedfactor.co.nz/bmw-motorsport-performance-parts/bmw-engine-components/

These guys in Tauranga sell performance parts if you are wanting someone in NZ.
I needed rods for my n54 but they would only sell rod with pistons as a set. I think they only had 1 pair which I guess is fair...

Ended up just getting bearings/rods/pistons etc from Ebay.

https://fcp-engineering.com/en/132-bmw has pretty well priced rods (compared to carrillo).
Not sure if anything for M54 but I believe S52 rods work?? not 100% sure though.

If you are wanting to make a solid engine there are a couple guides. I can't remember the exact configuration, but I looked into it when I used my 330i. (ended up just getting an 335i n54)
I think it was you want the Iron block forn an old m50b28 and the head from m54b30 or something like that.

Haya mate cheers for the info,i had those guys in tauranga in mind too, seems there bout the best bet,il probly be doing the whole short block, try get compression up a bit cams, got guy here in Christchurch doing cams for my V8 he says the vanos cams are a bit tricky so will probly get cams from the aswell was looking at schiekmotor sport in Germany they have vanoa cams 10.9 2,1 for €790.Thats pritty resonable i thought.

Dunno about techs down there, but make sure the rattle isn't the DISA valve too - they are dangerous to your engine if it falls apart. It's screwed into the intake plenum, directly above the throttle body. Listen for rattle there, or carefully take it out and see if the flap is coming loose and rattling.

It it comes apart, there is a metal pin that can lunch the engine. It takes a while to get that bad, but very worth checking! You can new ones, or you can get aftermarket uprated ones.

Iv pulled the disa out its secure.

Itbs make a great noise, but a very low bang for the buck, and can actually lose power if done wrong. Unless you have a set of s62 itb's lying around, or money is no object, I wouldn't recommend it.

    If money is no object these are good;

Biggest gains you can get on this engine is good headers, and bigger cams. Neither is cheap

Il will be getting cams and headers made.

You will probably have to look overseas.

Mike Shaw fibreglass in Hamilton makes some but they are only for coupe.

    Thanks for the info.

Im now contemplating making a flip front.

  8. Thanks for the info,im planing to run itb, dose the information include this type of induction,8x65hp throttle bodies = 550hp 65 hp per cylinder.

Stock internals will take up to 13psi before you need to start looking at aftermarket pistons. 13psi proboably equates to around 500-600hp.

There are four different intake manifolds - you want the earliest one with the trumpets.

For throttlebody use the one from the n62b48, its 3mm bigger than the biggest m62 one. You will need t

I think it was mentioned previously but the subframe itself is not the issue, its the car floor (RACP = rear axle carrier panel) and surrounds where the subframe mounts to. CMP Automotive have the most comprehensive articles I have seen regarding the issues. Part 2 of their material linked below, to follow on from part 1 linked above.

    https://cmpautoengineering.com/pages/part-2-it-s-not-just-the-subframe-mounts

Do you think a standerd 330i subframe will handle 500hp?
