cool I've read they ran really slow with the primo and most people went back to igo 8.3 in the end, great to see it does work

So my final comment on this setup is that the sound of the Pioneer LX60 combined with the POLK RT2000i gives a clean almost clinical sound. There is less volume in the mids with more emphasis on the highs, and overall less power in the base. I would describe the sound with the Yamaha DSPA1 as more relaxed and more warm, and for me a more enjoyable experience. What I didn't expect was signifincatly lower volume. I can listen to the LX60 at plus 12db, the loudest it will go. It however has issues and shuts down for about 10 seconds after a minute of two at full blast. I guess those extra 5kg in the Yamaha were in the power supply and massive passive heatsinks. I guess I've gone from what was a Yamaha flagship model to more of a bottom of the top end in Pioneers range so my comparison isn't probably that fair. Pioneer can put on all the fancy letters they want but it's never going to compete with a yamaha sound wise ,seriously why do yamaha win so many awards and not on the mags that are sponsored and therefore have biased reviews

have you had a play with NDrive I keep hearing good things about it.

diesel maintainence costs are more, buying a second hand is a hugh lottery as they are only as good as the service history, petrols you can guage motor condition quite easily, diesels can bite you in the as$/pocket big time if they havnt kept up with all the proper checks and servicing, My bro has spent years with diesel injectors/pumps serviceing, courses all over the world to keep up with the latest technology and told me never to buy a 2nd hand diesel unless you have its full history, especially jap as they tend to be more neglected than ever

Do you have any heated ones? -
so your price included duty or did it get thru ok, The new hooligan/hualingan models are shipping now and getting really good reviews, still have the full 7" screen and english firm has even got the mid working for full compatibilty, theres going to be a lot of work and customising done to all these wince models in the future I was a bit concerned that Dynavin changed chipsets in v4 so its possible there will be new bugs that havnt been ironed out yet?no problems with yours?

at the end of the day it was a mistake,sh*t happens and always will if it was your 85yr old grandma that paniced, mounted the kerb and drove over them,(does Happen) would you be wanting them locked up instantly for the rest of their life too, once you get over the frustration of how dumb and annoying the guy is/was its still just unintentional and therefore an accident. wrong place /wrong time

Yeah ive been wondering about this too and I think its more to do with cars and eras, senna lived right on the edge most races and his cars looked like a handful but he seemed to just hold it and some of his passing was brave to say he almost had a deathwish, compared to prost who was clinical and perfect technically so therefore consistant, much like schuie. When you look at the old guys sitting in goggles back in the 50s on spoked wheels they must have been insanely brave or jackass stupid as well so how could you compare them to now,how would they have gone in a basically automatic ,with launch control and telemetry, some downforce and real tyres like everyone does now Hamilton is more an athlete built to deal with high gforces and things happening faster because the speeds are higher so reactions have to be better which the old guys didnt have but hes got simulators, health coaches, mental coaches etc,the old guys had jobs smoked drank and helped fix the cars before racing. I was a hugh alonso fan because he was more like senna but it does seem lately to be more about the car or the money,Ferarris budget just killed the sport for a few years, theres some pretty average drivers on the podiums now because of the car theyre in,button, webber are no way better than alonso ,massa or raikanen was.not bad drivers but whos gonna get excited watching webber,I love that RedBull are doing so well but webber,,come-on

e39 525 auto last tank got 619km at 9.1/ltr or 11/100km mixture of 4hr trip open road and fortnight of round town to work daily with frosty mornings was reading that a saving from 15mpg to 19mpg is better than a saving of 34mpg to 44 mpg which most people don't realise its all to do with percentages gained
-
yeah interesting that you hit the theoretical wall at those speeds and its more about aerodynamics and drag than sheer horsepower to get higher topspeeds,
-
this weeks bit on senna was cool, classic clips of an insane time and you could see how passionate hamilton was about driving the maclaren, showed he genuinely enjoys cars and isnt just a showboat stuckup, was like a 5 year old at xmas which is how id be if I was offered a drive in it and watchn the veyron going round their aerodrome track with its airbrake was like a slot car, silent no dramas but so so fast

http://dynavin.freeforums.org/post1694.html apparantly got a lot of remodeling from the e46 version to get it to fit in the e39,amazing that they perservered at all must be a limited market new models now have internet access with a 3g modem stick

Off course it bolts on to the bumper supports, that goes without saying doesn't it,perhaps I should have been more descriptive,my point was it was a good fit, very easy install, had to press remove two small bolts from the original bumper shock brackets, drill out the holes to take larger bolts and it all just went back in.Car body was already drilled for the larger size bolts. I think the bolt holes in the well were more for extra support to stop twisting maybe, probably not even needed. Wiring kit I don't need, only for occasional trips to the dump during daylight so didnt bother. towbar rated to 2000kgs Not knocking the factory kit or 2nd hand if you can find one but was just a heads up to anyone looking for a cheap bar,I thought it was good value and service and was worth mentioning the company, just putting my experience out there
-
brought a new towbar for 2003 e39 touring from towright in christchurch delivered overnight for $300 total to the north island, bolts and towball inc fitted in a couple of hours with only a drill ,(2 holes in spare wheel well) and socketset and slight cut to bottom of rear apron Big ups to them.great bar cheap price and fitted perfectly.

jvc kdr 905 and 805 both have adjustable lighting, got bluetooth as well i'm basically looking for: rear or rear+front usb or an SD card slot direct control for ipod lights that aren't blue or are adjustable. i've basically come down to the pioneer deh-4250 (sd card slot, red lights), JVC KD-R716 (front and rear USB, but hideous bright blue lights) or JVC KD-616 (adjustable lights so can match them but no SD card slot or rear USB). basically i'm not keen on a front USB because i don't want a cable hanging over my dash, i'm guessing everything's gone front USB these days thanks to iphones etc and having an SD card slot means i could just load up a card with music and leave it in there with no fluffing about plugging in ipods etc. anyone know of any other units that might suit?

thanks jochen you were correct regarding the light and 15mins,I will wait till weather clears and can leave window open to check the fan goes off as well, not sure what causes car to wake up randomly unless im bumping key remote accidently in pocket but that should resleep again I would have thought so will monitor this further not sure why satnav needs disk access when car is off but will remove the disk and monitor the traffic as suggested

2003 525 model jap import Why is the transmission park light on 24/7 when not going is this alarm related? why is there a faint fan/electrical noise coming from inside aircon dash controls area when key is off,all buttons are dead but something is going still? japanese satnav dvd spins/grinds away 24/7 in boot when disk is in,(not thats it useful anyway but why when key is off?) do e39s have an alarm, manual describes one,how do you check possible gremlin have noticed few random times now that after locking car and returning later interior lights and satscreen are on, (went off when locking as expected)screen is grey and shows clock only, unlocking and relocking with remote fixes lights but screen stays on unless ignition is turned on and off again,

looking for a universal garage door remote please, euro version prefered but anything in a pinch
-
why did I not think of that cheers Actually in the wagon there is a much larger version of a similar looking audio video plug sitting bare under the floor just behind the radio, any ideas what this is for
-
Im trying to add a reverse camera trigger to pin 17 of the audio video module and also hook up the camera feed to the inputs, is this 61-13-0-005-197 the correct part for the pins and are they availably locally, can they be ordered from bmw directly or is ther something local available cheaply from computer parts or the like
-
fantastic information, great help thanks, camera is supposed to be ntsc,

after viewing many reverse camera install retrofit diagrams Ive fitted an aftermarket reverse camera to an e39 wagon but have suddenly realised when going to fit the relay for 12v+ reverse wiring trigger that the reverse lights are actually in the tailgate. DOH,,Is there anywhere in the RH rear of car (video module corner) that I could tap into the reverse signal, cant find where the tailgate light wires go once they enter the roof space above the rear roof speakers but suspect they dont return to the rear of the car. other option is to fit the relay inside the tailgate itself next to camera and extent the video module reverse ground trigger pin17 back into the tailgate and relay anyone with any wiring circuits that show access to the reverse light signal 12v+ Ive also read confusingly that the reverse signal polls for bulb failure and would connecting a relay upset this or possible cause video signal dropouts

not sure if compatible with other models or sedans but looking for touring e39 please
