Exhaust Rattle Hello my 130i has started having a random rattle at low revs that I think is related to the exhaust system / heat sheild but unsure as dont have access to a hoist and struggling to get my nose under when driven on to a couple of 6x2 I did think that perhaps it was the exhaust butterfly , but have done the " golf tee mod" and still have the noise. Giving the muffler a wee push with my foot there is a small rattle towards to mid of the car, could this be the cat convertor and if so can i get this cut out and a straight thru put in its place without cheating a " drone" at various revs? Advise / help appreciated. and or recommendations on who I should take car to in Wellington.. dont mind paying for a cash job on a sat/ sun so long as workmanship is good ( i have grown an affection for the old girl 😉😵‍💫) thanks in advance murray

Have found the R8 really good, couple of times i though it was false triggering but nope, just picking up stationary radars parked up way down the road

I brought a full size 17" for when doing out of town travel in 130i, but it means my partner can no longer take the " kitchen sink" ( only room for couple of duffle bags in the boot).

Thanks to all the info that shared by people on this forum ( fingers crossed) the shudder in my 130i has been fixed without going down the route of "red herring" etc. Symptoms were; no issues when engine cold but once engine warm, then under light load (and say 1750 rpm moving to 2000rpm i.e. -going from say 80km - 100km I would get a shudder as the gear box changed up ( but totally of if using the sports mode with higher revs). Transmission (GM) has been serviced and so-far the shudder gone

Thank, I decided to try cut of the lock tabs with a multitool , but actually found that when I was going to pry off some cut bits with a screwdriver the whole thing came off 🙂

Hi Does anyone know an easy way to unclip and remove old jack points ( without access to a hoist ) so I can replace damaged ones ... I have tried using vicegrips but can not get them to hold firm enough before pushing down thanks in advance murray

Carrying a spare.. with the potholes on the roads getting so bad these days I'm considering at in addition to carrying my compressor getting a spare tire for long overnight trips out of town (thinking of the smaller front size 7Jx17 tire/rim ) ... any thoughts on this? Kelvin at BM workshops has offered one at $375 + gst and freight ..is that about right? or does anyone know of one in the back of their garage that they want to part with ( im in wellington)? thanks in advance Murray

Hi im also considering doing this to my 2008 130i ms Did you car originally have the ccc version with pop up screen etc as per photo and how did you make sure the order was configured to suit nz

Thanks Dave, fyi took a punt and purchased a rear wiper motor assy of Ali and 100% identical to original one that had failed and only took 2 weeks shipping

Sorry guys, another dumb question. Is there a standard place that the mag security socket is stored on the 130i ... and if its not there any ideas where i can get one?

Hi has anyone replaced the original 130i stick aerial with the shark fin style without impacting radio reception etc. and if so was it just a matter of removing existing, connecting cable and double sided tape adhering one from a different model one? Sorry in advance if above is a dumb question m
