thanks for the replies guys Mine is set at advanced logic mode ( L ) Going to turn on K band and see how bad it is - i do quite a bit of city driving so will be interesting to see how many "false" alerts pop will let you know how i get on I know the valentine is getting a bit old , but i love being able to know if the target is in front of me, rear, side etc its been a trusted unit/units that has pretty much worked in the ~10 years of driving around

ya not sure where he was going with this :S ^^

K band....ahh crap so many false alerts.... Do you have K Band on? Mind sharing your Programme mode settings: http://www.valentine1.com/Lab/techreport3.asp They way i had my valentine one setup was it only really reported actual events - and not false otherwise you will start ignoring it and then get caught out :S

Def will notice an increase of power from downpipes/tune - Good to see another person dial up some power on another 335i Should come to a track day - and see what it can throw down without losing your license on the spot There's a couple of threads with guys who did a Single Turbo upgrade change on their N54 with AT trans Car's AT seemed to be fine, but once they dialed up power and the WTQ went above 550 - that's when we saw their transmission start slipping / total failure Guessing manufacture spec says 600NM? My E50 map is doing around 664NM at the moment and no issues Yep fluid change is important imo, just did my change of transmission fluid LSD mod was one of the best ones I did - you should see how your condition of your LPFP is - see if it can handle a 40% mix of e85 I'm sure there's a OTS map from Cobb for a e40 tune?>

The AT gearbox is my concern if i go down the upgraded turbo route - It looks like the AT on these cars can handle 550WTQ (745NM) "safely" - anymore and the transmission is going to give out from dumping on it No one has been able to upgrade these ZF gearboxes (from all i have read on the forums) - even tho they have pointed out similar other car manufactures etc use the same - something about the upgraded gearbox tcu/software not being able to be broken and mated to the BMW car's ECU My only 2 options are either conversion to manual which price wise is not that bad, or do a DCT changeover which looks very pricey

Quick update on things: I seem to be eating my engine oil , only had it changed about 5000k ago, it was due and the level was at minimum - oil got dumped and being sent to Castrol for analysis (Lifetime) Transmission Oil was changed as my car hit 50K ( put 13k already on it and its not even been a year ) - Oil seemed to look fine - Differential Oil was changed - nothing obvious so the wavetrack lsd seems to be bedded in fine FFTEC Inline Low Pressure fuel pump was installed and was able to run e85 without any blending (tho the 39L/100K consumption@ the track) Car's of to the Gloss Master next week for some paint correction and to be shown as part of the Gloss Master stand @ the 4&Rotary show

3rd time out @hampton downs , mate of mine joined in his Silvia S15 Fun day, pushed my car a bit further then last time, Running full e85 mix in the car, what a difference it did to my IAT's - pity at the 39L/100KM consumption tho - luckily I brought some jerry cans with 40L of e85 to fill up Sorry for the dirty windscreen and my battery died in my external mic(typical) - so hence only inboard audio Raw footage from 4 sessions Some rear footage from my mates car

Can 2nd this, Gavin is highly recommended - been a big help with my modification project and his work is top notch - the LSD installation was done by him and its a work of art very methodical and an eye for detail , he was installing my oil cooler and noticed the screws that were used for my lip , he wasn't happy with them and changed them to a black screws so they blended into the carbon fiber and proper length screws for that application the other week i was there he was tuning a 135, and he was showing me the dyno sheets where his tune was nearly/basically matching the HP output i was doing on my stage2 map and he was running 6psi less boost then what i was running -

Hmm, everywhere I look people are saying on the N54 engine that 110-120 is the normal operating temp - guess the car runs hot OEM oil is : 5w-30 High Performance Synthetic Engine Ya diff oil are another cattle of fish, was looking at this : http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac---finned-differential-cover-e82-e87-e90-e92-e93-p2493.aspx

Good info to know, thanks Was surprised how hot this car gets, normal operating temp of the car when I got it was 120 degrees with normal driving....once the new intercooler was installed 110 degrees, once the new oil cooler and thermostat was installed it sits between 105-110 degrees - normal highway / city driving I can see with me getting into tracking my car that i will be upgrading my oil cooler setup to the dual oil cooler setup (good thing is there is a upgrade kit from the sport to compeition) http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/133 I am changing my engine oil every 5000K due to the performance tune i am running and the track days in between When i had my lsd installed, Ross commented on how my so called "lifetime" differential oil looked, wasn't pretty at all. As i have broken in my LSD - getting the differential oil changed again this week I am getting my AT transmission "lifetime" oil change as well this week, will let you know how that looked....
