  1. I just got a Macbook Pro 17 " - 2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo - it hauls ass.

Except Apples are closer to 5k :(

Andrew... what are they like? looking at upgrading from my G4, even though ive just packed 2 gig sd ram into it :D

Also do you have an unlimited licence for final cut pro??

    Can i scab an install??

  2. There's another rule that relates specifically to Pioneer headunits. Never never never connect or disconnect RCA cables unless the head unit is switched off and the amplifier is earthed. There's a fuseable link in the headunit RCA earth track that blows. Everything will still work but you end up with hideous alternator whine and CD tracking noises.

    I did not know this.

Thank you - This helps me :D

  3. Went to Parallel imported last week with my partners younger brother, he wanted sounds for his newly aquired toyota cressida  He had a bit of a budget and wanted some mint front speakers and a decent sub setup. Looking at sub/amp combos and then having to fork out $80 for a box not even suited to the sub specs didnt seem to enticing. Then i saw these Earthquake Packages.

They come pre made in a box ready to install, box made to spec, amplifier neatly mounted into the back of the box and sub behind a perspex screen (Bandpass?? type enclose). Its got fairly hefty rubber blocks on each corner and is a solid unit etc no rattles on it at all. They also chuck in a wiring kit. At 400 WRMS SVC it goes pretty good compared to some setups i've seen/heard. They cost $429.00

    2000 Watts Max

    50Hz - 300Hz low-pass filter

    2000 Watts Max

    400 Watts RMS

Bandpass enclosure with smooth bell port

New high performance Earthquake bp-12 cast aluminum subwoofer

    Built in 2000-watt digital amplifier

    Easy to install

    High end toggle switches

    RCA inputs/high pass

    20' remote bass level control

    0 - 10db bass boost

    50Hz - 300Hz low-pass filter

We Ended up getting infinity kappa series components, and SQ is so mint.

Id definatly reccomend this sub package.

esp. for noobs, Setup = Simple sh*t :D

  4. Tarps over the whole car, but the sunroof panel has been out about a month or so, so there is a bit of dampness in side the car. Motor was running sweet, its pre f/l. I can get a cold compression test if needed.

  5. I have a E30 325i 4 door that ive been scamming parts off for about a year now.

There is no suspension (Only front swaybar)

    No Brakes

    No sunroof Panel

    No Passenger Mirror

    No drivers sear

    Some door trims missing

    No boot spoiler

    No driveshaft or diff

    No Bonnet or bumpers

    Has:

Not a rolling body but will chuck in a couple of bottle caps with tyres

Good 2.5 engine with working auto tranny

Everthing else not listed above, inc towbar.

All the panels are in great condition except for the drivers front fender.

There may be a couple of other small thing i have removed but this is in theory a 'parts car'

Car is located in Papakura and will require a tandem flatbed trailer to remove.

    $250 o.n.o or W.H.Y

  6. "Fixed for good", when you add your driving style and your amazing ability to attract wayward Holdens etc etc etc, is a total impossibility !!!!

    FREAKING WORD!!

I was thinking exactly that as I typed the words :D

Tony, any idea how much the charge to balance etc??

  7. Dunno. Pulled it apart when putting disc brakes etc in. Im guesssing its out of alignment. But dont know about balancing. Ive read on some US forums there is a white dot on each section from factory....

DOnt know if theres any truth in that but ill have to get it out for a look. Diff is needing replacement and i want the d/s done properly. I want it to be fixed for good haha

  8. compulsory insurance is great cos the insurance companies wont insure them, this meaning they wont want to take there shitty car to the drags because they have a higher chance of getting done then before.

You arent covered for insurance at the illegal drags anywho. Its part of the agreement you sign with the insurance co that you will not be covered whilst partaking/associating the car in illegal activies. There is also more chance of the cops knowing of a crash at the illegals. Thus making it VERY hard to come up with a legitimate excuse of why/where you crashed.

Its something that always has been done and always will be done. Ive been there done that......

Still dont mind going for the odd cruise through Auckland city though, there are some pretty nice vehicles around these days, always good to see what other people are doing to their cars... Then there is the rebel mentality that some dickheads just WANT to force the cops to do more. I mean Diesel drops a f**king foolish people!!!!!!!

THese are the ones that wreck it and need to have their peices of sh*t crushed on the side of the road by a mobile car crusher :D
