    Only big increase in NVH I noticed when I did the IE stuff was over things like cat-eyes. Driveline noise isn't too bad. Maybe swap the diff out and see if its that.

    What else did you change/swap?

    The whole rear end.......

    I'd like to refill the diff with SAE 130-140 and get the driveshaft balanced and put back in. Just sorta wanna know if it'll remedy my problem??

    I have just finished doing a disc brake rear conversion on my 320i, did all the bushings with I.E Urethane and upgraded to a 3.64 medium case diff.

    When i flushed the diff i replaced the oil with SAE 90 LSD Valvoline Oil. Is this to thin for Non LSD? Im getting a scrolling/groaning sound from the diff at low speed and the scrolling get faster and less noticable as i gain speed, also does it on hard cornering.

    I have also got a 'clanking' noise when hard shifting down or changing reverse to drive or drive to reverse. It doesnt sound to good, everything is bolted up tight and i cant see any tell tale signs of where or why i am getting these noises. Its almost as if the driveshaft and diff flanges are 'clunking' together with the momentum of the car.

    Ive read on R3vlimited that this noise is always there but you cant notice it without the urethane subframe bushing which transfer more of the 'driveline noises' to the body of the car. Is this right?? the noises dont sound good and when driving behind my car in the twisties it sounds like a bloody industrial machine shop!!!

    Any ideas??

    You lose you licence now for excessive speeding. The fines for excessive speeding are more than 'boy racers' can afford now. So if its $3k or $100k it makes no difference.

    You think people doing all this stuff stop and think, "oh ok, the possible punishment is not too bad so i'll do it"

    There's no way. They just do it. Why? Because it feels good I suppose.

    If 'heavy punishments' worked how come USA (with by far the biggest per capita prison population) still has crime?

    Surely the death penalty, (the heaviest punishment), should have wiped crime out?

    Of course it hasn’t. Like someone said, you cant outlaw fun.

    The only real solution is provide some controlled environment to do this stuff. There are way too many people who are passionate about cars, you will never stop it. (in the short term).

    I put this to you. What is the point in any car that can do more than 100km?

    Why are high performance cars even legal at all?

    Shouldn't all cars come with a factory restriction of 110km?

    There is no resonable argrument for allowing a high performance car on the road.

    Oh you can responsible use that 300hp? BS. Its for accelerating at a rapid rate, (illegal - you try a 0-100 sprint in a 100km area in front of a cop and see what happens), or going over the speed limit.

    Either provide a regulated environment to 'boy race', or outlaw/restrict any car that can go over 110km.

    The motor industry/lobby has too much power for high performance cars to be banned, but how long that will last im not sure.

    Make hay while the sunshines is what some people may say.

    Sent a letter to trademe and emails etc but to no avail.

    Still waiting for the success fee to be paid back.

    Might be because the cops have started an investigation and trade me are waiting until the police are finished who

    knows.

    ^^ i think what he is trying to say is go the Direzza's.

    Thats what ill be sticking on next time round. Running Hankook Ventus ATM.

    My tyres are slightly stretched and with the camber on the back this has contributed to the side wall running flat. Never had this problem before. Even with Ling Long's!!

    Im thinking about changing the white to a graphite/polished aluminum colour. Make it look more like the old style black NZ plates, but im happy with them for now!

    Ive had a few cops follow me around and not been pulled up so seem to be ok, have the white ED1RTY plates in the boot just in case! Also guaging the heat they attract before sticking my smoked tails back on...
