I know this question has been asked before but just to clarify, you dont need to buy the mounting frames correct? Because you can just fix them with 3m doubled sided tape? Also when paying by credit card will it automatically work out the currency exchange or do you have to do it yourself? Noob when it comes to buying online... Cheers Mavrick

I'd say $12-14k....they're still not that sort after, where they're becoming impossible to buy. 16k would still be pretty steep for a tech 2. But best to educate the sellers so that they dont have to deal with the harsh comment some people put out there and so they dont make a fool of themselves.

Heres three on Trademe at the moment....Seem reasonably priced. All are pre f/l models, but depends what you or your son prefer f/l or pre f/l..... Car 1 Car 2 Car 3

Cheers Will, second person to mention that, i know that it will sacrifice the ride quality but as you said it's just a small drop, and the financial side of things wouldn't take so much of a hit. Would you recommend me getting the springs custom made for $380 (all four corners) or just a name brand? Cheers Mavrick

From what the guy told me, the koni sports are no shorter than stock, so they would have to be shortened as well, i would like to take the koni path but i dont think my finaces will allow it. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't m325i's come with bilsteins on all corners so they are already slightly lower than the average 325i....? It's hard when you get so many different opinions...will have to make adecision sooner or later. This set-up is purely for street purposes.

I definatly want to drop it as it sits way too high for my liking. FTL as the opposite to FTW? Hmmm this guy works on Bmws all the time and has done numerous set ups for Bmws on th track. Palmy is limited with it's options but for him to shorten konis would make it even more expensive. Any other opinions on KYB shocks? Cheers Mavrick

This also comes with a 4 year or 80,000k warranty.

Price as follows: KBY progressive front shocks $388 a pair Bilstein Shortened rear shocks $240 a pair Custom progressive front coils $190 a pair Custom progressive rear coils $190 a pair Machining $210 All up $1218 + GST. This is going to give a 30mm drop in the rear and a 35mm drop in the front.

Last year, but thats because the inside sidewall on my rear tyres was worn real bad. I was booked in to get new tyres the next week though......

Just been in TSV and sh*t just gets more confusing. Was told that even if i were to go to the koni sports they would have to be shortened 50mm (if i was to lower it 50mm) otherwise the spring wouldn't sit in there. Clarify? Also was told that holden spring fit correctly and would lower the car sufficiently, with the right shocks. Dont really want a holden part in my car, has anyone heard of anyone doing this before? What would be the best amount to lower the car by? Im looking for the euro rake look...... The guys there are really helpful and should have a quote by this afternoon. Sorry for all the questions, but im a noob when it comes to suspension. Cheers Mavrick

Thats where i went, going in next week to have a quote written up. I would personally rather get a reputable brand but we'll see. Have already been advised not to get any of the work there done, but as i said im just looking at the moment.
-
Yeah will do, may take a while to gather some prices. The prices will most likely be lower in bigger centers i.e. Wellington and Auckland. First susp. place I went to had never heard of H&R springs and juts said he fabricates his own for BMW's. Am going next week to get a price for Koni shocks. Cheers

Sweet as, Hopefully I should have some quotes by this afternoon.

As the title states. Have a good one.
-
Cheers for all the advice. One more query, What would the ride and quality be like if i were to just put the springs in with my stock shocks? Aren't the shocks in the m325i's bilteins already? Cheers Mavrick
-
So the H&R springs i would be looking at getting would be the sports? Do they have a code on them? Does anyone know of any reputable suspension places in P. North? Josh, your car is going to be sooo badass when finished, that set-up is just a little outa my price range haha. Cheers

Paintwork is hardly mint, just seems to come up well in the photos haha. And yea they did move it to the other side, they'd already done it when i got there and i couldn't be bothered getting them to change it back. It doesn't bother me too much anyway.

What did the koni adjustables and Eibach springs set you back if you dont mind me asking? did you have to get the Eibach springs in from overseas? Cheers
-
From what i've read on some other e30 forums, The H & R springs with shortened bilstein shocks seems popular....any comments on this set up?

Finally got my car back after nearly a three month wait. No added bonuses just straight and as clean as it was before the crash. So much better driving this than the Jap crap i've been driving for the past 3 months.

I am wanting to lower my car (87 m325i) properly. The questions I have are: What is the best set up for value for money? Would shortened shocks be sufficient with the correct spring set up? Note: I dont want to just put springs in, I want the shocks done as well. If you have prices for any of your suggestions it would be much appreciated. Also I may be in the process of acquiring a set of 17's would this cahnge the set up at all? Cheers in advance. Mavrick

Are the majority of the wheels sold on the NZ market made from aluminium? If not what are the good/bad points of wheels made from aluminium? Cheers Mavrick
