It says in the policy documents that it must be serviced every 12 months / 15000kms . And it was last serviced 11months ago / 14,000kms. Thanks TJ and Qube, have sent him a text offering some beer money to sign the transfer form. Fingers crossed.

Hey guys, Not BMW related post unfortunately, but recently bought a car through Turners that was repossessed by a finance company and sold as is. Car has a few issues like noisey diff, oil light and airbag light which i had budgeted repairs into. However, while vacuuming the car tonight i found a booklet for Autosure Extreme cover mechanical insurance valid until 2017. It's still in the previous owners name it says in the booklet he needs to sign something to change name and i'm unsure how he would feel about having a phone call from me after having his car repossessed. Interested to know if anyone has any experiance with these guys? Would it be possible to claim for my diff etc under the prev owners name? Or transfer it without contacting him? Any advice appreciated

Looks like OP trying to do the ol sneeky "sell two cars in one listing" trick? DNK741 looks like the correct plate http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=dnk741 (although says its a saloon?) I'm potentially keen. Interested in details on engine swap? Kms on new block, receipts available? etc.

Damn, i'm sure a few Wellingtonians have seen and admired that ACS 740 around with the p-plate ACS740. Now been crashed and sitting abandoned in Kilbirnie

Yes very subjective but my e46 was a Singapore import and from now on ill avoid like the plague. Hot humid climate had damaged electrics (spend thousands replacing various parts) and perished all the rubber seals around windows and doors (decided not to pay the ~$1000 to have all of them sorted and put up with wind whistle >80kph). Japan has a similar mild climate to nz, well maintained roads and a culture that typically look after their cars. Have owned sever Jap import cars no worries.

This is disgusting it just looks like someones gone nuts with crap from ebay

Yeah been BMW-less for a while but still like spewing rubbish on all corners of the internet. I'll race you in the VW for pinkslips - Winner takes all. Also yeah sounds good.
-
Sounds like a pretty serious issue Mike..... Cut your losses and move on. Got a mate that will trade it for an 04 Legacy?
-
Do you know much about its history? If its a Jap or Singapore import id be leaning towards the idea that someone has just chucked an extra 4 in the badge. AFAIK there is no such thing as as a 544i If its a fully blown genuine schnitz it should have a plate in the engine bay or door sill with a schnitzer serial number. Its most likely just a body kit..... but if it has schnitzer anywhere in the engine bay (like a Schnitzer rocker cover) could mean its been tuned too. worth doing a vin decode on it if you have the vin. Is that a photo of the actual car? Looks sick!
-
Finding a full genuine schnitzer is like hens teeth. You're right 99% of "schnitzers" have 1 or 2 schnitzer parts and 7 million badges.
-
Surely its a 540? They had a 4.4L v8. Had my eye on these for a while and considering kms id probably guess value to be 7-8k? Which is top dollar as i've seen not so great examples sell for >4k
