Sorry, forgot to mention above - its auto. In case i didn't mention in the build thread, I upgraded the front struts to the larger size while I was doing the suspension. Was planning on an M5x engine swap so suspension-wise it's all set up for it.

1990 E30 318i Coupe WOF till December 25th 2014 Rego just expired Thought I’d post this up on here before putting up on Tardme. 1.8 M40b18 Odo shows 164k’s, however it has stopped about a year and a half ago, so actual will be higher, but not by more than around 5-7k. It has the usual tappet noise but otherwise runs well. Drinks a frugal amount of oil. Had recent replacement gearbox mounts and 1 engine mount. Highlight of this car is the Genuine Alpina 16” wheels with Yokohama tyres. The fronts are alright, the rears are getting low but still above legal minimum. No centre caps, however the wheels are in great condition without curbing or scratches. The suspension has been overhauled with New King Springs [super low] and New KYB shocks. This does not sit too low on this suspension, as seen in the pics, but it does a great job of holding the car nicely and is great for the road. New bushes were installed at the time meaning it handles much better than the boat it was before. Link to the build thread here The interior is in poor to excellent condition - meaning some parts are excellent e.g. the rears seats and trim, and some are poor like the front seats - the front seats are original but have the fabric blown out, especially on the driver’s side. The rest of the interior is fine/ excellent. Dash has a few cracks. Light controls moved to roof console - airplane styles - missing trim under dash on RHS of steering wheel. The exterior has a few marks, and the area around the RHS boot needs painting. It was repaired [rust] and is still in primer/sealer photos of repair can be supplied. There is also a small patch near the aerial in the same condition. The rear bumper is cracked, however a non-damaged spare can be included. The front bumper has already been swapped over but has not been painted. The side window trim has come off on one side and needs new clips to put it back in place. This was my project car but I’ve taken a job in Sydney so no longer have the capacity to complete it. I’m not asking too much as I realise that it is in an incomplete/slightly dirty unfinished condition, however most of this work is superficial and with a bit of TLC this car could come up nicely. VERY road worthy and just passed a VTNZ WoF. Asking $1500 neg. as is. Call or text Richard 021 606 703 who is selling on my behalf so any questions about history - PM me here as he is only handling the sale/inspections.

I'm getting rid of some of the parts I've accumulated as I'm living in Aussie now and can't keep the E30. So I've got a leather ///M Sport gear gaiter for sale. Its got the 3 stripes rather than just coloured stitching. Think I paid $20 for it, so $10 takes it. Pics below:

As the title says, I've got a brand new, totally unused passenger side tie rod end for an E30. Unfortunately you can't see the part number, but I'm 99% sure this is the LH side as I replaced the RH side. Unless they are both exactly the same in which case ignore my ramblings. Say $10 Pics below:

Hi Guys, I've got a pair of spotlight blanks for a facelift E30. They're in good condition and are in Atlantisblau , they just need a clean. These fill up the ugly gap-toothed holes in the valance and are a great alternative to wiring in spots. Think I paid $65 for them, so $50 takes them away. I can post to where ever at the buyers expense. PM me for details Cheers

Sweet baby Jesus in a tuxedo, that is a clean install!! Normall I don't like the S chassis because it's way too overdone, but that is all kinds of awesome. Loving the work on the 36 as well, it's builds and photography like this that makes me like the shape more and more...
-
Wow, that's really clean. I don't normally like the more-doors but this one looks the bidness!
-
Nice and clean. Interested to see what this will develop into...

Love the dish on this, keen to see some photos of it cleaned up!

Sounds like a beast, I'm keen to see some pics! Do you know much about the swap?

I have these going for sale on TM: Linky Bought them a couple of months back but moving and have no space in storage so they have to go. Its an auction so the price is $1.00 if you're the first and only bidder. Does anyone know if they are Msport?

Thanks guys, I have a bit of black left, might give the wing mirrors a go this weekend... Still looking into engines, pretty indecisive at the moment

Saw this down by the boat ramp Schexy

Love that shifter! And the spots on top of the roof rack set it off perfectly, much respect.
-
Looking good! Are those the NZKW seats?
-
Some more pics, before and after shadowline: Schexy no? Looking at those^ I think my wing mirrors might need a touch of blue...

Ok so I’ve been lurking on this forum for ages whilst quietly working away on my car in the background. I didn’t plan on this becoming a project, I just wanted to tidy it up a bit, but then the buying started; some decent oil to help with the ticking, then a remote central locking kit, and then a few other bits to keep her running smoothly. Suddenly it got serious and I was looking at new springs and shocks to try to sort out that wafty suspension. Next thing I knew I had larger front struts, King super-low springs, KYB Shocks and all new bushes waiting to go in. I suspected I was in trouble. Then I took her off the road to perform the surgery, and it was obvious that the bug had bitten me again. Damn, I’m quite susceptible to the old modifying bug… Out with the old Rear springs Fronts The back all fitted up. I just noticed that paint blemish. Grrr After I’d sorted the suspension I focused on the shoes. The old bottle caps are pretty sexy and bring all the girls flocking to my ride when I pull up [or not, as the case may be] but I wanted something a little bigger. I trawled TradeMe for ages until a set of 16-inch Alpina's with good Yokohama rubber came up for the right price. They didn’t come with centre caps but I think it’s got that touring car look without them. Sorry for the carpark iphone photos I’ve been pretty happy with how she sits [could always do with moar low] and the wheels look good, but the outside is still in need of some work to bring it up to standard. Getting rid of the chrome trim is in my opinion one of the best mods to the exterior of the car. All the essential tools to make your chrome go away The chrome wasnt looking very good. But after I keyed it with the 3M pads it looked better. Almost made me want to keep it like that. Almost. All primered up Streamlined for- oh wait, theres no window there.. So happy with how it’s turned out, and apart from being a bit fiddly and cumbersome to get the trim back on, an easy job. So that just leaves… the entire rest of the car. Plans for the Exterior – Picked up an iS front lip today and would really like some spot light blanks. That should sort out the front. Then for the back I have an Mtech 1 spoiler on there at the moment, but I also have an Mtech 2 in the shed which I’m considering swapping to. Also have a new rear bumper as the last owner wasn’t very careful, or didn’t have the mad reversing skills that I possess [not!] Speaking of bumpers, front and back are going to get a coat of blue, as well as the wing mirrors. So that pretty much takes care of plans for the outside. For the inside its definitely in need of some new seats as these look like I blew straight threw my jeans and right into the seat fabric. Also as much as this retro steering wheel is period, I feel like something a bit sportier will bring out the best in the interior. Maybe a few other little changes but these can wait. So now for the throbbing heart of the beast. I’m open to suggestions for the best heart-transplant for an E30. I’ve read countless build threads from most of the E30 sites and am still undecided. Budget is a huge consideration; I don’t want to be saving for months just for a small part that brings me one step out of a thousand closer to the goal. I want bang for my buck. And I want torque. 200 ponies would be nice too. What’s the general consensus on M50/2 Vs M20 Stroker? Does anyone want to scare a passenger and steer me down the right path?
