I will happily drive my car everyday everywhere until petrol hits $2.50 then i will "invest" in a old school 50cc motorbike to get to work and back.

Hey all whilst working hard at work i came across this site http://www.bimmerdiy.com/ it has ALOT of usefull tips and tricks as well as all of the mainteance details and steps.... ie changing the spark plugs all the way to a full service. Im sure alot of you guys would have already found this site but it will be a great help for anyone that hasnt. It seems to cover alot of models. Also the mod's look to be some of the more tastefull modifications i have seen. check it out. Thanks

Hi bud, nice car love the e46 coupes! soooo smoooth. about the tow bar try these guys Henderson Tow Bars 14 Te Pai Place, Lincoln, Waitakere City (09) 8385592 they do a good job and only takes them a couple of hours if they have a kit to suit, give him a ring ask for john.

Yeah head is stuffed. But the whole engine is getting a little tired so time to repower. I also work for AES / tradezone in the process of sorting out a trade deal for BS members.

Hey all my dad needs a new engine for his E28 race car. some may have seen the car out at pukekohe... Anyway he is looking for either a rebuilt or low kms engine as his has finally given up the ghost. i can think of the engine code but someone will know or ill post it tonight. probly a M30B34? i guess a later model engine could be used without too much trouble in install? Any help would be much appreicated as he would rather have this done sooner rather than later.

I had this same problem. they sent me a letter saying i had pumped and left without paying. the manager stated that i was on cctv and didnt pay although i knew i had and that i was to pay for the fuel + $40 dishonesty fee. as i knew i had payed i went up there and demanded to see the footage from that day. with a lil bit of ranting i got my wish. i looked through the footage and there i was handing money to the teller. moral of the story dont trust the blind managers. go and demand to see footage for yourself. You are bound to spot yourself better than they can. Can save alot of time and a letter from the police.

ok cool. i have got an old pre-made box that the 12" is going into whilst i build mine up to spec. but i dont know the benifits of having it ported or not. i see that you can make the box smaller when ported (as per sony's instructions) but what diffrence is it going to make to the sound? thanks, you guys are a wealth of knowledge!

Thanks for the heads up guys. After reading what y'all said i really think its overkill, since my battery is nearly new and amp and sub are made to run each other. Also as my battery is in the boot makes it really easy to run wires as short as possible. (was a mean help on the E30 having battery in boot makes life very easy.) my head unit is triple RCA so once i get some good front component's and a second amp i think ill have another look at capacitors at that stage. Ill post pics and let y'all know how she sounds once installed. "Ya know... doof doof?" Is there a way to calculate "damping factor" ? thanks heaps!

Hey all, Ok heres the deal... I have got a 1000w sony xplode 12" sub and a 1400w amp 700w x2 (can get the rest of the stats if need be) and i am setting it all up on thursday. Of all places i passed i stopped in at hotwire... after looking through the past topics on this forum i realised that this is probly not the best choice i could have made Anyway i showed him what i was planning on setting up and asked about capacitors he said that it is a must and proceeded to rant on about farads and other technical terms that pretty much ment nothing to me... So i decided to come to the one place that someone is bound to be able to better inform me on Capacitors and if i really need one. I honestly dont know much about capacitor apart from the fact that it holds the power from the amp untill needed. Would having this produce a better sound or just keep the amp from frying itself? Im just not too sure if hes trying make a sale or really trying to help me out. Any ideas? Thanks, Miles
