  1. title says it all really. looking for an e30 tech 1 spoiler, not too worried about condition because if it's not diamond shwartz I'll be painting it anyway. must be in christchurch as I don't really want to risk postage because theyre an easy thing to damage. around the $100 mark would be ideal. hit me. cheers

    Low e28

it'd be alot cheaper and easier to buy yourself a set of lowering springs that don't require certification, unless your wanting more low than lowering springs can provide like the OP?

+1. beat me to the punch. small and wides ftw!
  4. did i say i rate it highly? the difference between the aw11 on bc's and the e30 on monroes and some red springs is night and day. yes bc's are cheap and nasty and taiwanese and all the rest. but handling wise they crapped all over my barge spec monroe setup. comfort is a different story, and the only thing my monroes have going for them. daily driving something with bc's is as good as asking for a few compressed vertebrae. That is all.
  5. I could only be bad mouthing them because i've been driving an aw11 mr2 track car on bc coilovers for the past year. by comparison the e30 handles like a bus. getting rid of the monroes and fitting some beefy swaybars is pretty near the top of the to do list at present.
  6. the hotel grand chancellor is something to keep an eye on. I got to see it close up. something very weird about seeing one of the taller buildings in christchurch sitting on an obvious lean.
  7. our house is a write off. it's shifted off it's foundations by about 3 inches and now sit's on a pretty sketchy looking lean. parents cars are stuck in carpark buildings in the cbd (they ran home) so i loaded the family into the e30 and left christchurch for wanaka at about 11pm last night. hope everyone back in chch is staying safe.
  8. could be keen for the sump guard, where does it bolt up? chassis rails and crossmember? and how much clearance was there between the sump and guard? cheers
  9. I have them in my e30. they do the job but theyre nothing special. perfect if your car is standard height and your not looking for anything amazing handling wise. i wouldn't recommend them if your car is lowered though. they have a tendency to blow through their travel pretty quickly, and when your car is lowered and doesn't have a hell of a lot of suspension travel this means youl be hitting the bump stops quite a bit.
  10. not much... must have welded up the diff in it too obviously if hes doubling it as a transfer case. id like to see some undercar shots of that it's a pretty interesting idea.
  11. as this is a complaint from a member of the public, with photos that don't actually depict your car losing traction the police have very little ground to stand on. I wouldn't bother with a mechanics opinion. if a shitty old toyota starlet can rack phat rippys then so can your 325i. your best course of action will be to write in to the police and try have everything dropped by presenting your side of the story. failing that attend your court hearing, make the most of the court appointed lawyer and call a couple of mates as witnesses, and tell your side of the story. that way as long as you all say the same thing the judge has to take it as the word of one member of the public versus you and whoever you bring in with you, and without any proper evidence will not be able to convict you. it's also a good idea to wear a suit, they go a long way lol good luck man
  12. Mended. now it's time to track down a bit of compressed air and blow all the rainwater out of my ignitition system so i get 6 cylinders all the time. god i wish i had a decent garage... thanks for all the tips, it's made the job a lot easier.
  13. Doesn't appear to, unless someone is very good at grinding their welds back. Its still repairable but it was cheaper and easier just to buy another one so the cracked one is getting shelved until I learn how to tig.
  14. yup gave them a bell but they only have e36 ones. found one now, cheers deano
  15. Hi all, just testing the water on here to see if anyone in christchurch has an e34 525i sump they want to sell before i go and get my cracked one welded, needs to be for the later m50 powered model. hit me.
  16. the crack is far from old, only happened about three days ago. finally got it off at lunch time today, i've chopped a small unnessecary section out of the bellhousing so if this ever happens again it'll be a nice quick fix as the two hidden bolts are no longer hidden can anyone reccomend a good welder in christchurch? cheers to the people who mentioned the hidden bolts, if it weren't for those pointers i'd still be sitting around scratching my head.
  17. poos. going to be a busy day then.
  18. i think it's something trickier than a sticky gasket. the front part of the sump seperated easily but further back it just wont budge no matter how hard i try to pry it off which leads me to think that it's stuck where the engine, trans and sump meet. any hidden bolts in that area?
  19. had some free time today and made a start at pulling the cracked sump off the e30 in order to get it welded up, the sump just doesn't want to go anywhere... i have removed all visible bolts and have seperated the front of the sump from the block but something is holding things up at the gearbox end. any hidden bolts i should know about? I am running an m50b25 with getrag 240 trans and an e34 sump. i hope someone can help me out here, i'm over having no means of transport!!
  20. cheers mate, it'll be alot easier to track down a replacement now that i actually know what im looking for.
  21. the title says it all, hit a rock on that was sitting in the middle of arthurs pass road this morning and put a hole in my sump the size of a 50c coin and a crack running right down one edge, turned the engine off about half a second after it hit so luckily the engine didn't have time to play the oil starvation game. this brings me to the question does anyone know of a good alloy welder in chch who won't keep me waiting for ages? really need the car to be back in action by wednesday. or even better, does anyone on here who lives in christchurch want to sell me a sump? I believe it uses one out of an e34 but don't quote me, someone on here might know better?
  22. I ran one on the front one of my old cars, my advice would be don't even bother. I got pinged twice for it in the space of a weekend. Diidnt find out about the ridiculous amount of demerits I'd racked up until I got a warning notice from ltsa saying I was about to lose my license if I didn't start to behave myself... That said I also argued my way out of the fine several times. Most cops have better things to do. If you still want some email let's get graphic In chch, they're about 30 bucks a pair.
  23. oil and filter, and got my basketweaves cleaned up like new, next step will be to refit the fog lights, sus out why they don't work and hopefully change that
