Alrighty then, First post from the new computer!! There are different types of enthusists: The die hard pureists that don't see outside what the factory gives them. Those that appreciate what a chassis can do from one manufacturer combined with the engines of another, and build there own vehicle that suits their needs. Those that just have to rice things out with losts of stickers etc... As it has been said before, each to their own. But, if you are asking if a BMW is still a BMW when it has a JAP engine, I'd say yes. Andrew & ///Dave might back me up on this one, my E30 doesn't drive any different to any other E30, when you are in the drivers seat every thing is the same, it is just smoother & you don't have to worry about whether you can overtake that car infront of you!! Shame about the intercooler though, o'well it works!! Gus: The M88/S38 came in the Euro Spec E28 M535i and later in the E34 M5's, it is a 3.8l DOHC 300+ hp (360 or 340 from the E34 M5's with 6spd's!?!?!), I don't fancy anyones chances of getting one. Just a straight M30 from a E34 535i, would be very nice in a E30, 250hp 315Nm I think.
-
personally, if I were to do an E30 again (a coupe maybe) I would go with the big block 6. M30 3.5l, Ideally a M88 (S38, or DOHC M30, depends what you want to call it). They probably aren't that $$$ (M30). Nice, leasurely, powerful driving. There is too much $$$ involved in building/rebuilding engines, just replace it.

What I've put up is the best of what is avaliable in NZ. Yes BBS wheels would be the obvious wheel of choice, pitty you can get a whole set of one of those that I posted for the same price as 1 BBS wheel. Not really worth it in my opinion.

wow, that photoshoping looks really really crap here at home on the Mac!! How does it look on other peoples PC's??? Looked awesome at work!?!?! Anyways, I hear what you are all saying, besides I don't think I could bring myself to buy some "phat chromies". LOL Hmmm, keep it coming anyway.
-
The M5 replicas & the tempests would be 17x8" on all 4. The Essens would be 17x7.5" front & 17x8.5" rear. Another option I didn't put up was E46 M3 replicas, they come in 17x7.5" front & 17x8.5" rear also. I didn't have any decent pics to photoshop. Tyres will most likely be 215/45 17's front & 235/40 17's rear.
-
And last but not least the M5 Replicas. I quite like these but feel they may be a little to reserved.
-
The Advanti Tempest. I think these would be my current pick, they don't look so hot in the pic, in person they are nice, hyper black.
-
The Advanti Essen (in gulp, chrome dare I say it) I'm not a chrome fan, so don't go flaming me for suggesting them, I thought they could look nice with the red and Chrome trim.
-
The Advanti Essen. I like these because they are a typical BMW style wheel.
-
Here is what looks like now, centre caps are not on though.
-
Well it is almost time to start work on the mobile again. That means E36 suspension, hubs etc... will be going in, so I need some new wheels. I have had a play in photoshop to help aid your decision making.

So Andrews is a '84 SA 320i. Mine is a '85 german 323i. Hopefully they will go in easy too.
-
Andrew, can you elaborate on the bush issue. What bush, what part of it etc... What year is yours?? Did yours not go in?? Is your car a SA model (as they won't have them in the UK where the bushes come from)?? I have a '85 not too phased if there are a few complications, You think there would be some mention of it on the Powerflex website though!?!?! I'll have to tell them to put a note in or something.
-
