  1. They only have one or the other according to the restoration bible,

Mine has two, as did one of my parts cars. The intank pump in the twin pump cars is not a high pressure EFI pump, it only keeps the external pump primed. The car will run without the internal pump working but the external pump becomes even louder and the external pumps life is shortened if the intank pump is not working properly.

  2. Some have only one pump in the tank, accessed from under the rear seat. Some have only one mounted in front of the left rear tyre. Some have two, one in the tank and one in front of the tyre. All the pumps are noisy, so you should be able to hear them if they are running.

  3. The front 320 sway bar is 18.5mm, the 325 front is 20mm. The 320 has a 12mm rear bar until March 85 then 14.5mm after that, but plenty 320's have no rear bar at all. 325's have a 14.5mm rear bar. I put a 325 rear bar into my 318. It did improve the handling a little, but it doesn't really make a huge difference.

    E28 discs don't fit on regular e30's only E30M3's

  4. Hi, not certain at all, has extractors as opposed to cast exhaust manifold tho, just can't see in pic. The body had a full glass kit on, not an add on, seemed to be very well fitted. Do Hartge fit a plate on the body, and if so where? Thanks.

Don't know about a build plate but the H23 engine was coded MB9E. Spoiler kits were not standard. It should have Hartge badges on the instruments (and a 280k speedo) Hartge/Momo 4 spoke steering wheel, 16 inch 11 spoke alloys and Hartge springs with revalved bilsteins.

  5. whats wrong with s T fitting from para rubber? its what i used, about 2 dollars

The factory part is not just a simple T fitting. Inside it are two one way valves that stop the water inside the hoses draining back down to the washer bottle. A T fitting will work in its place but there will be a much longer delay between switching the washers on and actually getting any water out.

  6. A donor car is the best way to go, but if you want to do the swap without one all you really need to get from a 2.5 car is the ECU, engine loom and radiator. No wiring "splicing" is needed you just have to swap one plug on the loom for one of a different shape. As others have mentioned you will need the right box too, if the engine you plan to use is from a prefacelift car.

  7. yeah silverfox has a tank for a 318.. i think they have a different capacity so they wont be the same. does anyone know?

when do you think i would be able to come around and grab it off ya m8?

There are different capacity tanks but the size is dependant on age rather than the engine size. Really early cars had 58 litres, after Sep 83 they dropped to 55 then after the facelift went to 63. Also there is a larger along range tank with a split filler pipe fitted to some SA assembled cars.

  8. Yes, the boot should unlock with the central locking, if the boot is fitted with it that is. However central locking was not standard equipment, some cars did not have it at all and others only had it on the doors and not the petrol flap and boot. If it is fitted to your boot and everthing else is working OK then you probably just need a new CL motor on the boot. The CL motors in E30's are prone to failure.
