  1. The crank fit in the block ok but for it to work I needed new lower compression pistons with diffrent hight ring groves. To be honnest it was going to be to expensive and it cost an arm and a leg just as it stands now. Altho I kind of wanted the biggest engine in the KB targa family just for bragging rites but my brother one upped me with his new 3.1ltr M20 haha. Im kind of thinking Id love to put a V8 in it at some point maybe in a couple of years or so. Ive always wanted one.
  2. All the welding has been done, Got my log book and the front brakes turned up this morning! Mean. Body kit should be back by next week.

    My E36

Unsure on the tow hook but the rest looks good dude. Nice wheels. What brand headlights are they? Id like something similar
  4. Photos: Standard LHS RHS with E46 arm and what I think were offset 35 rims?? Front view Dosnt look like much but here is the freshly rebuilt M52! Added more gussets to the door bars, would like to do the bottom sections aswell but these took me ages to make, Not sure if I can be stuffed with it.
  5. I got one second hand dummy front E46 arm in! I ordered some special bushes from a company called AKG Motorsport to make the hex end of the E46 arm work with out having to change the original E36 bush mounting bracket. Awesome! They look like there made of nylon and quite loose but once installed they tighten up and I think they should be a good... time will tell tho. It has pushed the bottom of the strut out by about 25mm per side. This also gives me more camber but I will be using adjustable top plates so should be able to get the correct setting. Next I have to get some E90 rack ends as the E36 rack ends are now to short.
  6. Thanks, Turns out the E90 and the E92 both use the same rack ends and are the same part numbers as you mentioned. Guess ill have to try and cut a few more threads on them, looks like it should be possible
  7. Am wanting more track width and will be running adjustable camber top mounts. Looking at realoem.com, some of the E46 have different part numbers between the "For vehicles with M Sports package II" and what I suppose is the usual E46 arm.
  8. So it turns out there are two E46 arms.... M sport and standard. I think the differences are that the M sport arms use better quality ball joints? Im so over the internet! Any one share any light on this? Cheers
  9. Hey, Ive got an E36 compact project going on, Ive just put an E46 front arm on to increase track width. I now need to increase the length of the rack end or tie rod end. Has any one on here done this before? I have read that E90 (and maybe E92?) rod ends work but you need to chop off a small portion off the threaded end as there slightly to long. Then either cut half a dozen more threads in to the rod end (not sure if this is possible as Ive never seen one...?) to get room for a locking nut. This I would be happy with but want to confirm before I go ahead and order them. Other option is the chop down the rack end but I don't want to do this. Ive even read some people using both the OE E36 inner and outer but that means there only about 5 or 7 mm of thread engaged. That's not an option. Any one been here before? Steve Edit, The anit roll bar link will also have to be changed. Plans are to mount this off the strut itself at this stage
  10. Need an oil cooler for Rex McDonald's e30 entered in targa. Ran into a bank and damaged standard oil cooler. If any one has one please ring Rex on 027 498 9141 or Dan on 0210527197 This post is on behalf Of Rex
  11. Dash is done but removed it before I took photos. A and B pillar gussets are done but am waiting on welding suplies before I can fully weld them in. Going to attack the gear box tunnel and seam weld the rest of the pannel work I created.
  12. Thats the first time ive seen the race from the spectators/campers pot of view.... I have to go to that event some time before I die! Awesome.
  13. Went to pukekohe for some practice laps in the new 135. Love it!
  14. Worked on my compact dashboard, cut away slots to fit between the roll cage and blocked off the side vents. Also made a flash Carbon look a like switch pannel. Mean
  15. Its a gopro , small and has a good water proof case. Pole skis take a bit of getting used to but the progression is quite fast, you can be doing back flips and rolls in less than two years. But yeah it takes a few rides before you want to head into the surf.
  16. Hey all, A quick video for any one intersted, it has some of NZ's best riders. Not great conditions but wild enough to knock the air out of my chest while getting tumbled through a cpuple of waves. I love this sport! https://vimeo.com/40393998
  17. Think it was 25 by 2.5mm but will have to double check. Doesn't have to be included in the Homologation as its not considered as part of the main structure. Am fitting the dash but have had to cut off a large side section to get it in between the four A pillar bars. Will join the side back together and make it removable so it looks ok and so the whole lot can be removed if need be at a latter date.
  18. So is this replacing the compact??
  19. I didnt think i they made an M52 3.0 ltr?? Do you mean m54B30 crank?
  20. Have been slow on the project, freeride jetskkiing had kind of taken over my life while summer was here but the cage has finaly been welded! Pedal box mounts all done, diff is away getting the lsd sorted, body kit is getting molds made, fuse box mounted and Front brakes are on the way. Next is to fit the dash, finish the rear sub frame mounting bars and sort out rear brakes. Pics to follow this week. I like progress, slow and steady but its progress!
  21. Now that is a cool mod! This is going to be cool
  22. and on the opening stage??! Couldnt even see any door bars in that video
  23. Finally finished the roll cage in the compact! Am quite happy about that long winded process. BooYa!!
