Like the 3rd post on this site went something like this: I have the key to my door in the car. I have a different key for the ignition, out of the car. The battery is dead, and the only way to open it is with the alarm. Topless kindly tells us that we can open the bonnet using the crafty secret squirrel way. Get bonnet open, get the Honda next to it to jump it, goes OK. Then my mate decides he will take the positive terminal off the battery while holding the bonnet. After he stopped shaking, we put the cars away. After that, the self pwnage was aplenty.
  5. Well, after some very intense investigation with a knife and a number 10 I managed to esablish that my car will be fine if i just swap out the loom / motors / windows. The wires / plugs exist properly in each door, just not in the current loom. As I understand it, the loom that powers / controls the windows is also the loom for the central locking? Also, the wires that run into the boot, I wonder if it would be easier to just cut them and manually solder them back into the other loom instead of tracing it all the way into the boot for the boot lock? If anyone is interested I can take photos and do a writeup on this as i'm 1/3rd the way though doing it anyway. The windows are comming out of a Pre f/l and going into my f/l too, so some of the wiring under the glove box seems to be in a different place, but still the same plugs and coloured wires etc. And next week, I get to drop my 1.6 and throw in a nice reconditioned M10 318 engine for some turbo'ing fun :thumb:

  7. Hey guys just wondering if anyone here has attempted to convert a non-electric window 4 door to electrics? I'm just asking where the wiring from around the gear stick runs to under the air conditioning ducts in the centre console...i'm about to attack them on a donor car with a ban saw to see where the wire goes, but if I could just unplug them from somewhere and pull them out, I dont have to perform a tripple bypass for nothing. Any info would be cool. Thanks!

    Few questions

What could you possibly want the 316 for? Engine is no good, manul only fits 316 318 engine....its 4 door...has weights for wheels...heh... I was thinking of aucutally buying another car on top of the 316. Kinda like what Gus is selling.

Yeah, thats what I thought when I bought it for my GF. Probably Cliché now but it's only been driven by her really...and i'll tell you, she's the 40 km/h woman. Heh. Still trying to find those damn pictures

Yeah, been looking at the 325 engine & box but they're pretty expensive by themselves, think i'll just buy another car.

    Honda US Wagon

Selling the Honda Wagon, details: 1995 Honda Accord US Wagon (Station Wagon) 121xxx KMs 2200CC Vtec Automatic Alloys (Imported on car) Power Steering ABS brakes Air conditioning Central locking Electric aerial Electric mirrors Electric windows Overdrive Roof rack Overall good car, taken us to Kerikeri / Rotorua / Turoa easily. Very reliable car. Been serviced recently, cleaned and maintained well. Has recently had a bit of a bump on the right right hand side, just needs the light cover replaced on the very end (doing that this week). Put your foot down and it'll really pull away. Will have brand new Warrent / Rego upon sale. Also has excellent tyres, and good tight suspension. Handles really well. Been the only NZ owner, bought new from dealer for way too much. Just need to get rid of it to help pay for and make way for the BMW projects. Has an aftermarket headunit and speakers, but nothing flash, just a CD player, just a little better than stock audio. Seats fold down giving plenty of space, good long distance car. Runs very quiet. $6500 O.n.o Pm for viewing. Will have pictures up tomorrow, when I find them...just search tardme for an idea of the shape. It's dark blue / blackish.

Yeah, just went and looked more closely at the engine, its a '79 323 from an E21 - so it looks like a no-go on that Bugger!

    Few questions

Andy: Thought so. I'll have to spot a 5 speed somewhere then. Also, these people tell me that the 2.7 is complete - running and just sitting in a 525. Dunno. I think the 323 would be a better idea. bravo: Ahh sweet, so $450 for the box + engine would be a steal, great. I'll grab it then, reguardless of weather I'll aucutally use it. They offered me an upgrade on the fuel injectors and some custome headers too, so hopefully that'll boost it a bit. Another question: Is it hard to switch out a gearbox on these things once installed? I.e. I could run with the 4 speed until I can afford a 5 (as they are quite expensive!) and swap it out easily? I assume the diff would definately have to be changed with the gearbox, though. Ahh decitions decitions. Must get rid of 1.6!
  14. Will the 5 speed manual gearbox off my 89 316 fit onto an older 323 engine that currently has a manual 4 speed box on it? And what would you expect to pay for a good 323 engine with a 4 speed box attached? Also, what would be the advantages / disadvanges of running a 4 speed instead of a 5 speed? And what would be a good diff ratio for a 4 speed if I were to use that box? Also, I have come across what this person has described as a "short block" 2.7 engine that is currently sitting in a 525 with an auto box attached - worth grabbing? Thanks guys
  15. Power from battery and earth from a few mount points in the boot. THe problem is intermittent after driving for 7 hours...only stops once in a while. I think its just a loose connection under the steering coloumn that i'll dismantle and take a look later.
  16. Hey, Re-installed the sounds in the car last night, and when done, we took the car for a test drive. When we indicate left, it makes this horrible buzzing noise like as if it was comming from a buzzer under the steering colum and the indicator doesnt work. Indicating right does work, however. Any idea what that could be? Thanks

My hosting offer is still open Andrew, if you want to get the site going a bit quicker.
  18. As long as its for the E30, PM me what you want for it and the mesurements. Thanks
  19. All good - found it. It's the Mtech 2 steering wheel from an M3 - like here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/370mm-BMW-E...1QQcmdZViewItem Props to Andy for that!
  20. Need some random bits of the centre console around the AC controls and down to the handbreak. Mostly any condition, as long as its not completely destroyed and still has its basic shape. Not really looking to pay anything as im sure alot of you have quite a few of these bits, but will consider if its in the right condition. Looking for a few of these too, so let me know. Thanks guys
  21. Do you have a pic of what the E34 wheel would look like? I'm trying to get a pretty close match to what that one looks like, it's going to work with the custom fabrications we're doing on the interior.
