Rust probably the other issue if it hasn't been looked after - doors, boot, fenders, wheel wells, sunroof, tail rights, battery tray, fuel filler, most of the main ones.
Otherwise just all the usual stuff
Auto Transmission are pretty much the same as 6 cyl E34's im pretty sure(4HP 22).

Yeah had a few calls myself, not that they all bad
-
Very very nice, cant get better rims than that (Style 5's if im correct).
-
Sounds a bit like a driveshaft problem to me, could be worn driveshaft centre bearing or flex disc, or the actually shaft its self
-
Bloody nice, so cheap too, another month i would of brought this instantly. GL with the sale im sure it will sell in no time

A teacher asked her 3rd form class how many of them were Clark fans.
Not really knowing what an Clark fan is, but wanting to be liked by
the teacher, All the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.
The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different...again.
Little Johnny said, "Because I'm not an Clark fan."
The teacher asked, "Why aren't you an Clark fan?"
Johnny said, "Because I like National ."
The teacher asked him why he like National
Little Johnny answered, "Well, my Mom like National and my Dad likes National ,
so I like National ."
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked,
"If your mom was a moron and your dad was an idiot, What would that make you?"
With a big smile, Little Johnny replied,
"That would make me an Labour fan

Shape, E30 all the way.
I am interested in how people see the 5 series, was E39 the best ever ?
E34 for me
First BMW i loved and brought was the E34(3.5L) and still do love em as much as the E30's, 6's, 7's etc. I need another E34\E32\E38 for a cruiser as E30 ain't the best for that.
Id rather have an E38 than a E39 looks a bit better imo.

Swap for a day anyone??? Ha ha
Yaa, from what ive read they're more raw and less restricted in a sense. You need to be a real driver....
Ok, if you can drive upto Hamilton
-
I just cant seem to fathom what all the fuss is about an E30! I love the shape, look etc of an Mtech or M3 (definatly not a stock standard one) but why are they so fun to drive? Not trying to offened anyone thats for sure but can someone please tell me the +'s over an E36? Obviously only people who own or have owned both can help out. I would have thought newer is better?????
I'd love to drive one!
I find they are alot easier to throw around and get some good old oversteer going, alot more raw than e36 steering feel wise and less refined ride. Feels like more of a sports car for me. I suggest driving one and you will see
-
Haha that is the exact reason what pushed me to buy my car in the end. My Integra was way too light. Felt like I wasn't sticking to the road. Now I'm not going anywhere...
Just feel safer in my e36. In an e30 it feels...okay sorry but...tinny? Haha. No that ain't the right word...
Haha yeah you do feel the speed alot more in the E30 than the E36, but i found E30 steering feel is better and alot easier to know whats your cars doing when your driving it hard.

E36 is boring for me mainly because there are so many around, everyone from young chaps to grannies drives one. I respect people who drive them because they are a good car but alot of seem to get them just to be posers compared to other BMW's, they look modern and are cheap.
For me if just depends on what you want in a car, no doubt E36 is alot quieter, handles better, more power etc ie better for a daily, but as many have mentioned not as fun as the E30.
Looks are subjective but for me an a nicely done up E30 looks far better than any E36 ive ever seen. Stock for stock E36 is probably a bit better thou.
PBOY: My E30 has no cracked dash or rust and build quality is very good compared to some E36's ive seen
-
Love the shape of all older BM's ive owned.
Not the most powerful cars around but cant really beat them for the whole package - looks, comfort, handling, price & decent power for their age etc, not to mention seeing E30's less and less so good ones stand out.
-
thanks, will look into it. My ones are a bit shot so thought might as well get some slightly bigger ones about 15mm to raise the rear a tad
-
Anyone know where to get bigger rear bottom spring pads for the E30, like 15mm
-
+1 good communication and good delivery times in just over one week for me
-
Always wondered what sort of price bracket ecu remapping costst
-
Don't need the picture to know who would drive that, eye sore
-
E30 being manual drive fairly quick most of the time. E34 & E32's casual around town but on the open road I just want slowly accelerate and cruise at speeds its built to do
-
Looks pretty ancient & might as well be replaced. New genuine ones are about $30-40
-
Big fan at the front on the engine, i quoted one up from BM Workshop awhile ago and it was bit over $300 for an E30 one, id imagine yours be similar price.so i imported one for just over $100.
Could buy a 2nd hand one but bit of a gamble if the clutch is good enough.
Is it easy to spin?

Never been under a E24 but should be similar to other bmws in which you only have to remove:
4 19mm? bolts at the top which attach the diff to the housing(which you seem to have done)
4 17mm driveshaft locknuts,
Allen Key bolts for the 2 cv joints on the diff
Big 22mm? that goes through the diff rubber diff mount
