  1. Hey guys, Im in need of a on-board computer for a E30. Mine is playing silly buggers on me. Not to be mistaken with the check control above your head. I need the on-board/trip computer that takes place of the clock on lower spec models. Cheers

  8. Fah Brent you owned a few cars
  9. Not my problem if you dont believe. I have seen the car and the dyno charts... hes a mechanic and done the work himself. The motors are very restricted through the factory manifolds... You'll learn..... Actually to back it up, I recently witnessed a Z32 300ZX with the same motor, still with stock exhaust manifold but computer and and tweaked intake pull 330hp at the wheels....
  10. Keep it stock or forever look like every other Indian/Asian with a fake M5..... you'll get flammed by anyone who knows anything if you go twins or quads.... to wannabe
  11. Nice conversion man... cant wait to see the finished product! Its going to be a handful at 1/2 throttle.... I know a guy with one of these in a old school Celica. Custom extractors(made them himself), custom intake, exhaust, modified throttle body, link ecu..... 400HP @ Wheels... They are a damn good motor! Very underated
  12. Hey, there are a few 530d's over here. We have alot of X5 3.0d and also some E46 330d so the engine is common place in the BMW workshop. Servicing and parts will not be a concern. Its not as unusual as you think. We have a few UK imported E60 & E39 over here. The only manual ones I have driven. All the options i.e. NAV, RDS etc on these UK cars work fine in NZ. If the car is in good condition underneath (ie not attacked by the UK salt) it will be easy to get complied and on the road in NZ. You do have to pay road tax for diesel vehicles over here as the tax is not included in the pump price like it is with petrol. It varies from vehicle to vehicle dependant on vehicle usage, weight and engine capacity. For a 3.0l diesel passenger car i.e. 530d it costs $331.06 for 10,000KM's New Zealand diesel is not an issue with this engine. Hope this helps...
  13. Where did you get the check done? Haha yeah E60 rear tyres... gotta watch those. There is a large number of E60's that have had NAV retrofitted here in NZ.
  14. 335i's are the absolute business!!! So nice to drive
  15. Good move mate!!! Have you checked that your local BMW dealer is apprvoed by the warrenty company you are going to use?? Yes, Singapore E65 leak oil. They are shocking cars, badly specd and ultra unreliable. Glad you brought the E60. I work on heaps of them and their generally pretty bloody good, especially fitted with the silky smooth M54B30!!!! E65's look dated already, especially if they have the orange indicators and those budget looking wheels.. owww Good move dude, you made the right choice! If its got 18" runflats, keep close watch on your wheel allignment and tyre pressures!! Particularlly the rear.
  16. That Toledo Blue is a Jap Import.. stay away.. stay very away. You will never be happy owning a Jap E65 as the cluster and display looks chrap as they are a different design to cope with the Jap characters. Not to mention Nav doesnt work and you will need to fit a band expander. We have had a good run with Driveright and Lumley warrenties. I can check but I think their the good ones. Go the E60 bro... choice looking cars. E65 are dating already and no one wants a second hand E65 as the Service plan isnt tranferrable to the new owner. Espec a singapore one. We do atleast 1 a week with a serious oil leak!! P.O.S!!! Oww and stay away from 2nd hand V8 X5, ultra expensive to maintain.
  17. M54 fitted to the E60 is a beautiful and reliable motor if cooling system is well serviced, seem to wear tyres fast, personally a fan of AFS (active steering), expensive to maintain with no warrenty. E65, big pimp luxuary, smooth car to drive, gotta have a warrenty, N62B35 from Singapore are bad for oil leaks and interior usually lowly spec'd with budget climate control etc A E60 530i from a dealer with warrenty would be the go!! Espec the 530d.. absolute rocket ship!
  18. Agreed....... Reliable and cheaper of the BMW cars to maintain!
  19. Only reason for LAG is wrong bloody turbo, all manual BMW's suck in Traffic, heavy or light clutch there never as nice as a Jap If thats the same E30 that I've seen at Meremere its a work of art!
  20. 316's and 318's are the sensible option.. however, My first car was a 350HP VR-4 and I never stacked it...... It depends on the person, is your son responsible and sensible?????? Im on my 3rd Manual E30. Had a 325i 4DR facelift, 320i pre-facelift and now on my favourite of the lot 325i Coupe pre-facelift with LSD. Once you drive one, it stays in your blood. They are very fun cars and the M20 (Inline 6) is a awesome sounding motor!! Spend the time and money and hunt for a good one. My current one has taken alot of time and effort (not to mention money) to bring back upto mechanical happiness but it only cost little over $3000. It still needs more, but damn, she a fun car!!! My 2 Cents
  21. Hey guys, Humming noise is normal. Its the sampling fan for the climate running. Dont worry about it. E36 do this to. I've driven alot of E39's. It depends on what software revision the control units have as to how they drive when their in the cold start programme. Unless its banging or slipping between gears I wouldnt worry about it. I havent seen many E39 auto trans failures, most of the auto trans problems I have come across are related to cheap E36 Japan imports with JATCO boxes, RUBBISH!!!!

    1987 BMW M3 E30

hahah factory RHD e30 M3.... yeah right wicked car though... someone wondered into McMillans last week with a seriously concourse condition white e30 m3... never seen anything so beautiful.. looked like it had just come out off the showroom floor, very nice car!
  23. HAHA 20K, good on him for trying though.. nice example
  24. There are at least a good 25-30 that I have seen 87,88,89 RS VR-4's in the country. The rare ones are the 91,92 VR-4 RS as these are the EVO 0 RS. They feature the better engine(diff manifold, injectors, turbo, intercooler all bigger, diff computer), better gearbox, bonnet vents, 4 Bolt rear end with LSD.. these are the rare ones. Very fast! Easy 350Hp cars with little work.
