  1. Sounds like a plan, will let you know closer to the event bro.

Sweet Ants. Was gonna leave whangarei pretty early so we can arrive about 8.30 - 9am.

Anyone else keen for a trip down??

Gates will be open early Saturday for scrutineering, around 7.30 I think, practice generally starts at 10 am, racing starts when practice finishes. Sunday racing starts 10.30, gates open 8.30 I think.

    Thanks Silver Fox

  2. As per title I'm dead keen to start making a list of sh*t I want to do to it, but not sure what area to start in.

Would like more grunt for sure but at same time grip and handling are important as well.

Where's a good place to start (maybe small-time?)

Shocks and springs, Buy new shocks (shortened if going lower) and see if you can score a good set of 2nd hand springs. Then a good set of brake pads

  3. does anyone else have problems with their e36 manual diffs? my 320i has spat 2 in the past year (not to mention a driveshaft) and at around 1000$ each doesnt make me too happy! is it worth looking into a stronger LSD and where is a good place i can get one before my next one blows!? cheers! steve

What the f**k are you doing to it. 7000rpm 3rd or 4th gear rollbacks or somthing.

What motor you got and what sorta power? Have you had oil in the diffs at the time???

  4. Yeah, that sounds about right for a full service from a BMW dealer. Is Northland Prestige a BMW dealer or just specialize in German cars?

They are a bmw dealer and service centre. It's got something to do with jerry clayton auckland. They have opend a more professional place up here in whangarei.

Holy sh*t mate. Is that what a service cost's from Bmw  ?????????? Bring it up to me and I'll do it for way cheaper. Gezus I mean all they'll do is change your oil and water most probably just check your other fluids and flush and replace if nessasary. $400 odd bucks !!!????? They must be making a mint cause I ain't

  5. Just rang up to book and the guy I spoke to (think it was Glenn) reckoned average cost will be around $430 :o

Holy sh*t!!! Hahaha he must of charged you more lol...

What did you ask to have done?? That seems wrong if you were just getting your light reset

  6. Mint that's a decent price, I actually have to take it to the Whg dealer to get the inspection done rather than reset it since the Orbit cover I have will go belly up if I don't.

    Sweet dude .

Go and see Glenn at Northland Prestige he's onto it. Probably hook you up if you say I sent ya.... hahaha or charge you more

  7. Just a quick-fire question, how much would an Inspection 1 generally cost?

Went to go home last night and the damn Inspection light's come on finally.

Give Ken a Pm mate. He's got a reset tool that should do it. he'd do it for a bottle wine or box of piss probably and he's in whangarei

  8. Cheap antifreeze aint the go -even changing every 12 months - ask any good radiator repairer about sub standard antifreeze. It should be changed every two years - longer with the longlife brews.

Also antifreeze does have an influence on the cooling effect of the system.

Bro anti freeze is exactly that ANTI FREEZE it prevents your water in the radiator from freezing ( has a lower freezing point than water ) and slightly raise's the boiling temp as well but fark all. It is the water that does the cooling. Adding to much antifreeze will end up damaging your cooling system as it'll be to corrosive. 50 -50 mix max dude

And as far as "bmw anit freeze" being better Well I'd say there is fark all difference in the chemical make up of the stuff as it all is meant to do the same job. I use what ever is around and yes disstilled water is the best

  9. Mate just buy some cheap antifreeze from whereever and mix it 60% water %40 coolant. It's the water that does the cooling. Adding to much " coolant" adversly affects the cooling capabilities of it. Change it every year or so. Do it yourself as your system probably bleeds itself. Saves paying these overpaid mechanics to do these tedious jobs.

Should be a drain plug on the bottom of your radiator , Pull that plug remove radiator cap or bottle cap drain the old sh*t out replace drain plug, Start filling radiator or breather bottle with 60 - 40 mix untill it fills. Start engine and run till it get up to temperature and the thermostat openings then the engine will start pumping water around continue to fill radiator or bottle untill topped up. Replace cap drive it round and check the level in a couple of days if not the following.

Trust me doing it yourself will save you money and you will learn about how the cooling system on your car works incase of roadside faillure etc..........
