  1. Honestly it is probably a more sensible conversion to attempt, many more people who have done this sort of thing that can give you good advice on how to do it! :thumb:
  2. Going by the questions you have asked, and by your own admission you have not attempted a job like this before, nor have much knowledge on what is involved. In essence, supercharging an engine seems easy, the reality is quite a bit different though. As you plan to do this yourself, rather than shell out a mountain of readies for someone else to do it for you, it is vital that you learn and understand what is required. Go and buy the book "Supercharged" by Corky Bell, it will cost you about $100,(loose change compared to what you will spend on the conversion) READ IT, and once you understand what is required then go for it. It is too detailed to tell you how to do it here, and besides, YOU have to understand exactly what you are doing.
  3. I think they only do the kit for an E46 (S54) Besides, I'm not a big fan of superchargers, turbo or nothing for me. And nothing (naturally aspirated) will be plenty to start with in a lightweight E30 I think!............
  4. and a supercharger :thumb:
  5. I think all E39's have suspension problems at some stage, and not just high mileage ones either........ Not sure if it was at the same time as the E36 "radiator cap" recall, but many E30's were recalled for radiator cap replacing, this was less than 10 years ago too. Cunning stunts...........
  6. I heard that the "radiator cap" recall was a relatively cheap way of BMW NZ getting a database of owners of older model BMW's so that they could give their sales people a target to aim for!
  7. As an alternative to a regular PS pump, what about an electro-hydraulic pump? Especially in a road car with a heavy engine, could be a good alternative? http://www.s14.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17495
  8. Nasty how they changed distributor rotation during the life of the M10! Once had to tune up an E30 M10 that was running like a pig, after a bit of time spent on it I realised that as you revved the engine the timing was retarding! Seems someone had fitted an earlier distributor, changed the drive gear and shoved it in the hole, owner couldn't believe how well it went after it was sorted!...........
  9. Here it is again on Egay, bidding is up to 50K, I would feel like a complete TOOL driving this around!.........
  10. Gotta agree with you there. Not a bad job, but owner seems to be full of it."Too powerful for the street"- dude, it is only 300hp, not 600!
  11. Someone trying to find the lightest wheel for their new E30 race car per chance? I have a few in storage, if no one can tell you I will drag one out and weigh it next time I am over there.
  12. Good thing Dennis is not an average person then........ Was this the car that won Bathurst in 97, or the one that won it and was then excluded? Apparently some in car footage from one of the Mustangs, but I'm sure you know that.....
  13. ......yes I know, having problems transferring them from my email to here. There is actually a few more earlier in the series, not sure but think it may have been "censored" Who was driving? Much damage apart from panels?
