That thing looks HOTTTTT! If looks alone could sell a car, then they will sell plenty of these, assuming they will be for sale.I see it carries the "new" Motorsport look of the red and dark blue stripe, same as the latest incarnation of the WTC car. I would think it might be a good alternative to a GT3, as in one make racing series. BTW, check out what is sitting in the background in the third pic. :thumb: just found this link http://www.speedarena.com/news/publish/spo...icle_6494.shtml

Nice cam cover, but 300hp?!!!!! I think the part in the description "I take it out occasionally" (and play with it) is probably fitting..............

Or if you plan on keeping it, just buy an E30 in the same colour as your Japanese M3 import , and transfer the plates etc. Extra dodgy. But I would do it.

I think the one of the reasons the older ones are so cheap are that they are rusty! Ask me how I know? I worked over there for several years in the automotive trade, one of the first things that struck me was how much worse the condition of relatively new cars were, compared to NZ. Topside normally looks fine, when you get underneath them you begin to realise the toll the salt takes on them. I wasn't just spinning a line of BS, I have had first hand experience here....... The upside to all of this is that their vehicle fleet tends to be much newer, they don't have the same amount of old sh*t driving around that we do.Oh, and don't assume that because it has 2 factory airbags it will comply, it must meet some European crash test standard, can't remember which one though.

The average life span of a car in the UK is 9 years. If you have ever spent time there you will know why. Even cars 4 or 5 years old can have serious rust problems developing. Anything as old as an M3 will have at least one of the following: "never driven in winter months" means it will need SOME rust repairs and all of the aluminium bits will be corroded, "has had all the usual rust attended to" means it is a patched up piece of poo, and "reliable daily driver" means it is so rusty no one will buy it off me, and I had to sell my other car to keep this one going, so now I am forced to drive it every day! :rambo:

Tell the truth, that was the "P" lab!...... :drugs:

Think of all this as "evolution of moderation!"............. :jap:

I remember when the latest trend was three spoke wheels, it wasn't THAT long ago either. I also remember saying to myself "myself, that looks crap, they won't be popular for long" Some of the emerging trends such as spinners and Altezza lights will be short lived I think, others such as hydraulic lift kits have been around for a while, and will probably remain so.

Offset on 14" baskets are ET30, I just had a look on my car.So these are ruled out.

Pics please!!!!! I have always been a fan of this conversion, really good bang for your buck I reckon, and plenty of scope for future upgrades as well. :thumb:

A slightly different angle here. A few of you are going on about this being a democratic process- actually it is not. From my understanding (please correct me if I am wrong as I am still a bit of a noob on here) the site belongs to Andrew. Therefore it is more of a "dictatorship" which although it sounds bad, is actually the easiest way to run something like this. Andrew gets the last word on any changes that may happen, if he chooses to put a vote to the people then lucky us, but as it is ultimately his baby, then it is up to him which way he wants to take things, and I certainly don't have a problem with that. :thumb:

That sounds about spot-on for a standard 3.5 litre (I assume it is?) Should go nicely. :thumb:

There is probably a good reason why people don't come out and say what they might think when one of these "stunnas" puts a post on the board. I try to treat discussions on a forum in the same way I would if the person were standing in front on me, I might think he/she is a complete idiot, and the question or statement is utterly stupid, but I would always refrain from lowering myself to the same level and name calling/ abusing/offending that person. If that person were standing in front of you and you dished out that same rhetoric, then you will at the very least hurt their feelings, and have them never return, or probably get a punch in the nose! I think an old cliche applies quite nicely here- "If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing" And another point which someone made earlier, as the membership of the site grows, sure you are going to get a few "stunnas" that perhaps are not playing with a full deck. It is a good reflection of the integrity and character of all of us in the way we treat them. :jap:

I have watched them restore this car over the last few years, certainly one of the best M3's in the country now, well done and look after it! :thumb:

Firstly, I don't trade FOREX, but have been thinking about getting into it, and am following this with great interest. I dabble a bit in property, and have recently started on the sharemarket, (hot tip- PLUS SMS- buy heaps of it!) Anyway, I am heartened to see the intelligence level of some on this board extends a bit past"Yo niggaz whadda yous fullas fink of ma sakd BM on cromies'spinnas n'tints wiv da neons an da chopd springz?" :mosh: cheers conrod :thumb:

The car I bought as a donor for my project was a 318i automatic, can't get much lower performance than that- and it had a nice "M" badge on the boot and in the grill! Going to leave the badging as it is............pasta and tuna thing for lunch- not bad!
-
Should be able to sort that.
-
Thanks for that. A set for sale on trade me, and a friend has just bought a 330i asked me if they would fit, that was all! Appreciate the fast reply, go and bid on them if you want 'em! :thumb: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-48248131.htm

Simple yes or no question really. Will a set of original E46 M3 wheels in 18"x8 and 18"x9" fit a standard bodied 330i coupe? Answers on the back of a postcard, or just here will do! cheers conrod :jap:

To answer the questions in order: -2 or 4 door- dumbass question, go to the back of the room! -no pics yet, might be able to post some though - M3 badges are available on Trade me, some nasty chinese copies for about $5 -c pillar extension is just a cover, you do not cut out the orginal! Any comments welcome, I am just looking for feedback at the moment before I decide whether or not to get them made. cheers conrod

Hands up anyone who would be interested in an M3 fibreglass body kit. Kit would consist of front wheelarches (complete) rear wheelarches, front spoiler, side sills, bootlid, boot spoiler and c pillar extensions. Probably be around $3K, and will be a reasonably serious job to fit. Just want expressions of interest at this stage, and if there is enough I may get a few sets made. cheers conrod :pimp:

I know what you mean, I think the market for these for definitely be around 20ish with a disposable income in six figures.Hmmmm......... mightn't be a huge market for these!?........Definitely go the "R" though......

Where were you a few months back when someone from NZ posted pics and info on electric superchargers he was selling? Pretty much greeted with the expected and deserved response, but promised to perform some tests on members cars, before quietly disappearing......... Probably bigger and dumber fish to fry elsewhere, I think he underestimated the average intelligence level ( I did say AVERAGE!) of Bimmersport members.
