A couple I looked at had both leaked oil around the CAM covers , and one had CV issues , but I suspect the CV issues one had done about 200,000 ks more than was on the clock.Too much Best Motoring for me.
Under a 100,000km and your pretty sweet?
Nothing really to look out for then? NZ Honda is sht. there's so much crap to wade through. I just want an info thread on type r's. What to look out for, common faults etc.
They are still quite dear though. Spose i should drive one.

Did you decide to test drive anything from the new ranges ?. Anything catch your eye ?.
-
Test drove on of those very early 1800 versions , engine still had those wire lock tabs that you see on some prodie racing vechiles, straight from some Japan series . Was impressed by the sky high rev limit...... Almost as good as a modded e30 m3. Had a ride comfit that would rattle your fillings out. Best sub 2.0 performance car I've driven.
Anyway , why aren't you driving a bimmer ? (or do you ?).
Also while we're at it that CBR 250 RRRRRR needs to go ... Ducati is the way .....

See a number of CSL's here in London, one's often parked on the road outside the apartment (if it were mine it’ll be locked in a garage !). I think I'm seeing more M3 convertibles and CSL’s than the standard M3's. Good to see that they are also been driven by younger people. Nice cars!
Second had prices have come down with low mileage CSL's going for as low as 75k NZ (30k pounds). So if people are in the market for a second-hand one, look seriously at having a holiday in the UK and save yourself $35- 50k nz.
Not sure if the e46 M3 CS is out in NZ yet, but BMW have released a half-way model between the two. These look great with plenty of colour choice. Have seen a couple recently.

Go Hamilton,
Auckland and Wellington have failed due to over "PC" polices and not wanting to upset the mall rat's weekend shopping. Hopefully Hamilton can get it through.
Looks like sis's place will be walking distance from the track.
Wellington street race was excellent , you could get within a few meters of the track. The Aussie V8's sound awesome wound up. Hopefully it'll be a full race meeting with the new 318/320 series as one of the support races. :thumb:

As featured in PS2 game , and featured in recent BMW performance mag

Anyone up for it ?.

Probably just as well , the e21 M20's had a habbit of cracking heads if abused.
-
Only time my E30 M20 did this (twice) was when the thermostat was stuck open. Otherwise the rest of the time the temp gauge would sit on halfway and wouldn't noticeably move. I'd say keep looking. Check out your viscous fan operation while you’re at it.

From memory it was available via the BMW aftermarket parts sales broucher from the 80's. I have one floating around somewhere.

Dynamo , the laundry clothes cleaner , get it from the supermarket.
Don't have a pic of BMW wheels after sorry ,but here's a pic of the motorcyle rim which normally gets covered in brake dust, road grime and chain lube.

Sorry to hijack the thread Homy.
3pedals,
Thanks for the advice , lol on the tyres.
*sic
Driveway suits as it keeps the gangsta's with lowered Honda's out.
Bmwsparkle
Hot mixing along with 30k + of re-engineering could work , But I suspect the garage / house would fill with water

1 part liquid dynamo to 4 parts warm water. Put into spray bottle. Leave on wheels for a few minutes, wash off with soft cloth / car brush.
I use this to clean up the motorcycle and works better on wheels/rims than any wheel cleaner I've tried including BMW's own brand. Give it a try , I was suprised how well it worked.

Excellent thanks, Cars done 170k now so could do with spruce up.
Any sugestions for the front end ? (other than matched shocks)
I'd like to drop the ride height , but the driveway at our NZ house stops this. It's only go mm's to spare as it is now.

Did your E36 have the standard or mtech suspension ? (sorry , don't know if yours was coupe) Would you recommend koni's for replacement of BMW mtech shocks for E36 ?. If so which series of shock ?, Koni SA's as well ?. I've got to replace the rear shock mounts so might as well replace the shocks.
Thanks
Neal

Sorry , I don't have a pic here in london. One thing about the BMW ones is that they cover the area behind the grill where the cold air intake is. I'm not sure how much air they block , but they certainly wouldn't help. The are similar to the ones here , they are probably slightly wide and higher.

I got some thought the BMW dealership a while back , it was a single unit for each side , didn't look that great , but after loosing a few headlights to stones I brought a pair, they eventual cracked , but the headlight wasn't damaged .(cheaper than headlights). Some of the car accesory shops have a round version which sticks to the lens , however , you really want ones that can easily be removed for cleaning.
-
Don't know if you solved this , but also make sure the connector to your left rear light cluster is pushed all the way in. It may have come out partly while working in the boot.
-
Did you install a stereo joystick remote into the steering column , if so re-check the holes you've may have drilled. (mounting screws may have shorted some wires)

Or they start off / design with a good motor and wrap it with an ugly body.I think the BHP is indicative of the general historical US engine development philosophy: want more power? make the motor bigger! Whereas the rest of the world have gone the 'make the engine more efficient' path.
Anyone remember the early 90's US spec Ford Taurus. 3.0 six with 5 valve heads developed by yamaha , it made something like 160 / 170 kw in 1990. Who would buy a car where your not sure if it should be driven backwards or forwards. :banghead:

Good on you for doing the start of the Cisco exams , it's become the minimum standard for entry level jobs into networking. You'll need the exam behind you to get your foot in the door overseas.
The final exam is a series of multi choice questions. My understanding is that it's self adapting so will pick on an area if you start making mistakes.
Make sure your solid on your Netmasking before doing the exam and know the differences between 24 /30 /32 bit netmasks etc.
Use to be a site www.learntosubnet.com , it had an .exe for learning subneting , the site appears to be down , but someone or site is bound to have a copy.
I don't have a copy with me here , but you can PM in late April , I'll be back in NZ and will have access to it again if you can't find it.
Make sure you learn the full command syntax for IOS commands as the questions will give you a few similar looking options , with only one correct. Get in the habbit of using the full syntax util you become solid with it , EG show interface fastethernet 0/0 rather than sh int fa 0/0
Learn your OSI model , make sure you understand what layer does what , You will get a few questions on this.
Also have a look around the internet , a few sites have a questions in a similar format before spending your money on the final exam. Plenty of sites similar to this one. http://www.jidaw.com/certarticles/ccna.html
It's also worth visiting www.Gjobs.co.uk , It has a series of cisco tests (and others) that you can do and link to a CV , It's worth doing a profile just for testing sections.
It will give you an idea of which areas you'll need to work on.
Hope this helps
