nikasil is the v8 problem......yours should be an m20. a 520i WILL be gutless as.....having driven a m20 525i i can only imagine how bad half a litre less would be. idle will prob be ICV (round black cylinder, spray inside with carb cleaner till the mechanism inside moves freely), bad contacts or maybe Throttle body Throttle position sensor switch. all fixed easily with $10 worth of carb cleaner and some spare time.....when i find the write up i used ill whack it up as for swaps the easiest would be m20 2.5, but still slow.. m30 3.5 prob the best all round (low cost, etc) as it came factory in the 535i's, just find a wrecked one and i imagine your away laughing

damn my west didnt turn out most things respond better to the banging than that....the only prob i could think of is the old crusty seals could be sticking it all together just for info, the only sockets you need are 8mm and 10mm....they normal sockets (well normal as in the ones with more stars, not the normal hexagonal jobbies)

yep one 12....the box i have i like a lot better than my old box...really wide but thinnish, no wasted space in boot as it takes up whole width and not a lot of depth....and still room for strut brace its a pioneer one, dont know much about it as put there by PO.....i dont even know my amp output! its a sony thats bout it, with lots of dials and sh*t...kinda fun. mike, what your setup sound like? i was happy enough with mine in old car (same sub/amp, stock lux package speakers) so should survive with the new one

nothing too flash, just some inifinity reference series 5 1/4.....my only concern is that they have an inbuilt tweeter....but since they should only be getting low signal from my crossover, i shouldnt hear em too much? using my stock triangle mirror panels to mount the tweeters in....will run the fronts off my amp and rears off the HU....better than whats in there now. rears just some pioneer sixes that came with car

i will agree.....to a degree about the k's thing. mine had dont 255xxxk when i got it (dont 263 now) and it was mint for its age....panel and paint was mint....my only prob was i dont think the old owner drove it very much, so my constant use wore things out....spent a fair bit of money on it before the crash rust is THE main concern for me, one of those things that more depends on age and where it was kept than actually milage its a cheap price for what looks like a decent e30....would have it over 80% of other ones i see on roads

you can buy the alpina kopis online, abrahams motorsport there another place, that also sells the genuine ones. name escapes me at the moment the kopis as i recall were not ridiculously expensive to get over here......they look good. apparently they a bit heavy...but ah well...look mint! i like 15's on an e30 (basket weave) but i imagine will one day go 17" to fit some massive brakes behind....16's look good. the only prob with having 17's is not enough tyre, and getting punctures.
