sounds like the fuel rail connector...connects the injectors and watertemp sensors to the loom......could def be a possibility! possibly damaged in fire? will have a looksie today.
-
however with that system how would you aim at the actual fire? i do like it, but would it be as effective as targeting the actual cause of the fire? just installed 2nd extinguisher today. paranoia anyone?
-
you mean the big harness plug? mine looks fine the tacho signal does work.....i plugged in an old tacho and it worked....however that tacho doesnt go with the dash i have. might need a new tacho. if i can bypass the SI board to get the temp gauge working that will be sweet.....dont really need SI lights or economy gauge. it just seems strange that all the gauges worked fine in the old car, and dont in the new one. however it could be due to the car sitting with the dash plugged in for a week or so, not charging? fun and games
-
which two terminals? tacho is new tacho time...if i can get temp gauge to work...who needs SI board? and economy gauge is homo
-
any chance of getting a refund? its really off and on for me.....it could easily be my car so i dont want to go round complaining, but im running out of options that it could be, and coincidentally it was fine right up till i filled up
-
how the hell that happen? you sure its not a bolt that has come loose? AC cobra is not a tractor
-
circuit board looks mint. ive got 3 dashes...the only one with the working tacho is from andys old car, and doesnt fit the newer dashes. and it doesnt have an SI board in it......plus misfire is back i hate cars
-
can the SI batteries still be faulty if they are putting out a healthy 3V? im having tacho/temp gauge/L/100k gauge probs...and the SI lights arent on. ideas?
-
mostly depends on your price and aim what jamex springs are they? the 40mm progessive? or 60mm superlow? Andrews ones? bilsteins will run you about $1100 konis about $1300 konis are www.georgestock.co.nz cant remember bilsteins off top of my head but shouldnt be too hard to find. also there are KYB's for a lower cost alternative, maybe $700ish a set?

how likely is getting bad fuel? putting $50 in last nite at Gul...c.37L. on my little drive (bout half hour or so) had bad engine probs.....felt exactly like when my CAS on my old car was gone....just a loss of power and stuttering before continuing....any gear and pretty much any RPM (not that i have a tacho yet) this morning changed the temp sensor plugs, and cleaned my CAS went for a drive...noticed straight away it was still doing it...carried on my errand and then went and put about $35 of the new BP 98......and since then hasnt done it. strange coincidence or possibly a bad batch of fuel? anyone else had similiar experience?

ended up using the FL solenoid, on my pre FL starter (didnt want to swap as have had it rebuild recently). eventually figured that it supplies power with ignition....im not the brightest crayon in the box sometime. should all work nicely, did valves too...just need to do some sanding and drilling then everything back together this arvo. thanks for all ya help
-
well ive found some of the problem the facelift harness has an extra connector to the starter that according to bentleys goes to the load reduction relay. however the pre facelift starter motor doesnt have a prong for it to attach to. is it simply a ground? ive fiddled with the ground that is on there already and the things seem to work....however they also seems to be noise constantly independently of ignition. does the load reduction relay need a separate ground there, from the main starter ground? bit reluctant to simply put the facelift starter in, as just had the other one rebuilt! but will if i have to
-
sweet ill get it off the wreck, im on shore, will sort out something on weekend so you can come get it
-
looks nice n tidy....would have considered it if it was a couple of months earlier! and i didnt have a black fetish.....why are you selling instead of just whacking a new engine in?
-
last time i looked there wasnt a fuse on the actual motor...however just realised that was on the pre FL. just a bitch to get to. not getting voltage on pins 86 and 30 for K7. other relays dont work. its not the resistors, fan was working fine on all settings until it just stopped.....now it doesnt go at all. my recirculator and AC lights dont light up either. brent, there is no inline fuses near the battery bay? swapped the relay that clicks when door opened....doesnt work either. my power mirrors dont work either..possibly they are all related?
-
hey dude, you from my trademe auction? i got one....however it doesnt fold up and stay...it sorta just flops down....can be locked in the full open position however. $40 for the whole thing if thats sweet
-
both sound about right...where is the fan unit? and which is the window relay under the glove box?
-

e pimping one of bimmersports few female members...prob explains the mass HBs
-
my interior fan doesnt work....along with a whole host of other things. cant find the fuse for it (replaced most of fuses anyway) could it be something else? possibly damaged wiring from my ham fists? and on a second note, my windows work.....with the door open. they refuse to when im driving......highly frustrating as you can imagine..cars behind me dont like it. any ideas?
-
what do all you parts fullas do with your wrecks once ya done......is there any company that will take it away, with their payment being the wreck? or is it worth taking to a scrappie for the metal $$ yourself? any ideas welcomed....excluding pushing off cliffs/into sea/leaving on someones front lawn
