  1. This is on my list for later this year when I head back to Britain. http://www.artificialowl.net/2008/11/chern...streets-of.html This place looks intense too: http://www.artificialowl.net/2008/08/hashi...a-nagasaki.html
  2. Today I updated my 4:9 screen and TV module to the 16:9 setup so these are for sale. I also have a radio module (nz new) for sale so will help those who need a band expander. Looking to get rid of all three together... 4:9 nav screen (suround has been painted silver but is actually the woodgrain type underneath. A bit of turps will get this off back to the woodgrain) 4:9 aspect ratio tv module Radio module All in perfect working order. Came from a 1996 E39 540i so should fit perfectly into any E53, E39 or E38. My new setup with the 16:9 screen was all from an E53 X5 and works great! $400 or best offer. 96 E39 540i

Mine does the same and if you gently let your foot off the brake it judders untill you give it some gas. I think its a vacuum leak that I have.... I also get this occasional slight loss in power when cruising around the 100 mark and a slight hiss that goes with it from the passenger side of the engine bay. On very slight pressure of the peddle It lasts for a second or two then goes back to running normal. As soon as i press the gas more than a toe press it doesnt happen. I think its my throttle body gasket that is leaking. The rough idle is noticeably bad on windy days here in wellington.

    EOI: HID kits

So.... Darren... You getting 2 sets? One for main beam, the other for fogs? We should join forces one weekend and wire them up!

    EOI: HID kits

Sorry i was a bit unclear. What i meant is, could I put HID's into my front fog lights as they are not projector style housings....? I wouldn't like to have nice coloured HID's in the main beam then ugly yellow light coming from the fogs. Id like to have HID's in both but unsure whether the housings for the fogs will allow HID's to be installed..... I keep both main and fogs on when driving day and night as so many of the drivers here in Wellington just dont use their eyes. Having them on seems to have brought down the amount of daily near misses with these muppets!

    EOI: HID kits

Would these work in a normal E39 fogs or do they have the be projector style bulbs in the fogs to be able to fit HIDS there too? Sorry for the noob questions. Also how would this affect the LCM in E39s? Is it likely to screw anything up?

    EOI: HID kits

    Will these kits fit a 96 E39?
  11. Has anyone bought this lense set from trademe? If they work and are compliant come WOF time then this must be a good deal no? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=427127778
  12. Lovely looking car.... interior is fantastic but yeah, very dodgy indeed
  13. Just seen this E39 up back up on trademe after being on there a while back for a very long time. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-428041109.htm Obviously the guy never sold it as he was wanting wayy too much for a car with over 200k's on the clock (was in miles as it is a UK import) and eventually pulled it off trademe after months of it being there. Now it seems like a company have it and are selling it but its mileage is listed as 140,000k's on the clock. If thats the case then the mileage has been tampered with. Just a warning to any potential buyers out there
  14. Well quite possibly yes as ive had no luck in finding thus far! I'll PM you fella, cheers
  15. No we didnt, but probably should have.... Didnt think of that at the time...
  16. Hi guys, looking to get my hands on a TV module that will support 16:9 widescreen display. Would prefer 2001 onwards but open to anything that supports 16:9 as im going from 4:3 to 16:9 Cheers
  17. Well I tried to hook up at DICe duo ipod thing through the CD changer line in the boot and it played for about 10 seconds then the screen on the ipod would go blank and the music stop. Id have to cycle through the inputs again to get the music back and for only 10 secs before it did the blank screen, music off thing. Any ideas on that one? Very bizarre.... Me and the guy really had no idea what was going on but it wouldnt work past 10 or so seconds so hence the current setup. Maybe i'll try another empty tape but with an elastic band rigged round the spools and see if that works....
  18. No it only shows in the smaller format....
  19. Hi everyone, ive just got myself a widescreen display for my E39. However, once its plugged in, sounds come through fine but the screen is flickering and after thorough searching of forums i havent found a solution. Ive tried unplugging the battery etc etc but to no avail. My car is a 1996, it has TV and radio but no Nav. It used to but one of the previous owners must have pulled it out. Everything worked fine with the smaller screen setup but now it wont stop flickering. TV and radio work ok but through a flickering screen.... What do i need to do? Will it just be a case of updating the TV module or is this going to be a nightmare and I should just got back to my old smaller screen? Also I have for my ipod to work I have the "poor mans ipod setup" rigged which works a dream. Except now when I put the empty tape into the widescreen display it plays for a few seconds (like 20) then goes silent again. As soon as I switch modes and come back into tape, it plays again but for only 20 secs before going back to being silent. Arghhh!!!!!! Anyway, long post, anyone have any ideas pointers? or had the same problems? Thanks in a advance. Chris
  20. Hahaha! Still not got round to it yet....
  21. Thats what I figured but to be honest a fault code isnt really going to bother me as long as it works and doesnt mess up the actual workings of the LCM. Where would I send the LCM if I wanted to get it repaired and roughyl how much do you think I would be looking at? Thanks Glenn!
  22. Hi guys, so a while back on a trip up the country i noticed one of my high beams were on, I pulled over, took the key out of the ignition and the light was still on. For a temp fix I just disconnected the bulb. But now WOF time is nearing..... I know its the LCM thats spazzed out but I was hoping to avoid touching the LCM and going down another route but would like your guys' advice on whether what i want to do will work ok or not? I figured I could just run a wire from the headlight that DOES work properly so that when it is activated, the offending side comes on too thus bypassing the LCM. Will this work ok? Thoughts/ ideas? Thanks in advance.....
  23. Yeah ive got them and they're amazing. Still not as good as the original F1's but nothing ever really will be. Expensive but damned good
