I need aluminium trim desperately. This woodgrain looks absolute cak. What do insurance co's do with such cars?
-
So does it fit properly or is it one those ones that needs cutting and jimmying to get it to fit properly?

Has anyone ever rebuilt an e39 540i engine before? Is it even do-able/ feesable and what sort of prices would be involved? Is it even worth it? Its an overheated engine that needs to be re-built I know its an electrical system nightmare to try and pair up an engine from another car so figured re-building would be the way to go. Anyway if anyone has any tips or advice id love to hear from you. Cheers

Does all the OBC stuff work with this? What functions will we lose? -
The more sideways action im putting down to it being a "new" stig. Definately a different driving style. Personally It seems as though the show is being more and more scripted and its a shame as its not quite as quirky as it once was. Anyway, its still a top show and they're doing some great stuff as always!

New to the forum, just got my first BMW!
mossline replied to chenjianxi's topic in New Member Introductions
Yeah I went from a subaru forester to my 540i and it is annoying the lack of storage space. The forester had cubby holes everywhere! Thetre are kits you can get from ebay that can turn the armrest into storage space and still keep the sliding mechanism (if yours has that) Cheap and relatively easy to do. Here is a great link to everything you will ever need to know on your 5 series and more. http://www.e38.org/e39/ -

Will switching off cold check stop the subtle flickering of my replacement LEDS on my number plate light and reverse lights? Is there anyone in Wellington with the computer software that can access the cold check option? Might you be able to help me out in return for a drink of your choice? Love the look of the replacement bulbs but not keen on the, ever so slight, flickering occurring.... Cheers all

Yeah but you could see and hear the bmw which is better.....
-
Looks like its gone back to the E39 roots a little with the styling. You can see it in the nose and even the rear door frames.... I like it but a good looking E39 M5 is still better looking I recks....

mossline replied to mossline's topic in Electrical system
Yes exactly that! Anyone have any ideas/thoughts on easiest way to do this mod? Also im thinking of possibly adding another pair of these orange LED ambiance lights somewhere in the rear but unsure whether it would look good or not.... Chris -
Sounds like a wheel bearing, had the same thing.....
