I have owned my car for no longer than 2 months. I bought it with a faulty navigation display. The fault code appears to be 2DED. The screen will not function at all. Does anyone know any repair facilities in NZ? I’m wanting to get this done when I can. I’ve been told it’s the LCD that needs to be replaced. Any help is appreciated! Cheers

Hey gang So I'm in need of a little help here. I pulled the m50b25 from my 1991 325 sedan, and with an m52 I bought as well, I now have the iron block m50 2.8 stroker. M52 single vanos head with s52 cams too ? I've got everything back together, I'm using the original dme and wiring harness from the car; the starter motor turns the engine over but I can't get it to start. I've read through a gazillion threads in various forums, testing this and that, but I've just reached a point where I need some help. If there is someone in the Christchurch area who would be interested in coming and having a look in exchange for their favourite tipple, it would be very much appreciated. Shoot with any other advice and what not too. Cheers Shaun

Hi guys, So after putting up with it for most of winter I figured it's probably time to fix my busted power windows before the New Years break! Am after a couple of motors for an '89 E30 Touring (facelift model)- one for the front passenger window and one for the passenger side rear window. If anyone has any surplus of these in working order kicking round - let me know! Thanks in advance Mike

Hi guys, So my E30 has to spend overnight locked up in a carpark tonight due to some odd problem. A few days ago the boot light drained the battery and I got it charged up at Taylor auto electrical. So that was fixed and I adjusted the boot light switch. I have been driving it trouble free for a couple days and went to the shops today where I spent about 2 hours and when I came back the car would not start. I found that with the keys in the ignition but not turned to anything the subwoofers power light comes on and my cigarette lighter charger goes on but as soon as you turn the key to any other position the lights go off. So when the car is off things are powered, when it's on no lights come on or anything. We jumped it but nothing not even a click from the starter or a single light on the dash. I am VERY stumped and need to get this sorted asap. Any ideas what may be the issue here? Any help would be VERY VERY appreciated! Thanks

Hi Guys, So iv got a fully dressed '87-'88 M20B25 with loom and ecu, gearbox etc all with it lined up. The only problem now is the wiring from the C101 plug which is round and has 20 pins, to my rectangular C101 on the '85 323i. I have started to create a pinout chart which ill upload later tonight, theres just a few wires i am unsure where they should go? There is scarce information about 323i's on the internet, as they were Euro spec and well you know, if its not US spec then no one on any of their forums wants to know about it. I also need a bit of help as to what will go to the C104 plug (i understand this is for the cluster side of things). There is a round connection on the bulkhead by the passenger side, i know this isnt a C101 as i have an earlier car but i was wondering what it actually is. Any wiring help would be much appreciated. Ill upload my chart so far later on. This is the first time iv done anything near this intense mechnically, but thought id try my hand at it. I havent got the engine yet but will have it in a month, so i thought its best to prepare everything now so that its easier when i have everything. The 323i L-Jet wasnt the best starting place but its what i have to work with so ill do my best to make it work. If any of you guys are around Central/West Auckland, and know about the wiring id be real keen to have some help when the engine is dropped in. i HATE electrical systems and having not much experience doesnt really help my cause. Im sure with some help i can get this done successfully, so cheers for any help you can provide me with! Also i know the connector changes around the time this engine was built, so i will check again and confirm. This will probably be the same thread i ask lots of electrical questions over the time of the swap. Thanks!

I encountered a little issue with a bmw of mine, a 1996 328i coupe. Cutting a long story short, the car doesn't start, no ignition, even typical dash telemetry doesn't appear, apart from seatbelt light, and illumination of cluster ( speedometer / mileage ) counter. No fuel pump initiation. Lights work, radio turns on, fog lights don't work, all this started as an intermittent problem where i'd turn the key, and nothing would happen, sometimes for hours or days, out of the blue, you turn the key and Vroom! Lol. First thing i pondered, was the battery? Obvious starting point, but battery is fine with my other bmws? . I have had a look at the fuses and cannot see anything that is blown, checked relays, i see main system relay looks slightly discoloured , along with fuel pump relay. I switched those out with another 1996 328i relay with same relays, but no success. After reading on the net over the past months, it seems that i may have an EWS issue, i haven't got a scan tool to check any codes, but will acquire one soon, any thoughts are much appreciated. Wondering if i should book the car into BMWorkshop? Or does anyone know of a reputable outfit that is experienced / capable of resolving such a thing. Thank you, Peter.

Hi Guys, I need an ignition coil for my '89 325i. I have one from my '85 323i, but i cross checked the part #'s on RealOEM and they dont match, so i thought its probably best to get the right part for the job. Part # is: 12131286087 if it matters. It can be used, just as long as its working okay. The closer to Blockhouse Bay, Auckland, the better! But dont mind shipping i guess. Cheers!

Last seven digits of the chassis # are 2099070 I've been farting about with this car for a few weeks now, It's rattly, so I've checked/set valve clearances and cleaned the oil spray bar. It still rattles, so I guess the rocker shafts are worn. Never mind that it runs ok and I've got another head on the E32 730. I've dealt to a whole lot of minor interior stuff like missing clips etc. Replaced the electric window switch block to get drivers window operating. Fitted another head unit with a CD rather than a cassette... Replaced dead speakers. Fitted wheels and tyres, (M-Sport 18's, 9 1/2 rears, 8 fronts, I think from an E34 540, although I've seen the same ones on an early 750), which almost, but not quite, cured the 80kph shimmy. Replaced the thermostat after it got rapidly hot then blew the short hose from behind the thermostat housing to the water pump. It got hot again the next day, so the thermostat is out until I clean out the radiator and check to see if the water pump is any good on the 730... So, here's the interesting question. Today, having driven it around the block, (about 30km, parts of which have been used in the Targa), I was pleased to note the temperature remained pretty stable. However... The windows refused to work... the trip computer died... the central locking doesn't work, and neither do the wipers... All at once... Car still runs fine and everything else is working as far as I can tell... I haven't got a clue... Had to drag the 740 out of the three wall, borer infested, dirt floored shed that's the nearest thing I have to a workshop, so I could park the 530 under cover... Anyone got any ideas where to start with this?
