Flywheel question

M20, manual.

in this drawing number 10 (spacer ring) - what purpose does this serve?

Not totally sure but are we to take it from the picture that it is showing us both the manual gearbox/flywheel set up and autobox set up. If so the spacer would be for the auto set up to obtain the correct distance for the starter pinion to be able to engage the ring gear correctly. Just my thoughts on it.

i believe its just there to align ring gear to starter and to provide correct spacing for the torque converter but could be wrong

only the manual flywheel uses them .just goes between the bolts and the flywheel as a sinlge washer instead of 6 seperate ones

Big washer like Brent says.

I got one with the flywheel for the dirtysix.

After talking to the flywheel machinist I didnt use it. Threw it away.
