Yuen 16 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 Nice! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-167682028.htm It's funny, there usually aren't any E39 M5s for sale, then in the span of a month or so there's been four.

M5 owners must be feeling the pinch 4 are on or have been on at prices that seem good. There is a welly one that started at 65 already dropped to low fifties!I dont really like silver cars ussually but that one lloks good(starts doing mental sums and rehearsing arguments why we must have need one) Edited July 24, 2008 by kiwi535
mr E34 11 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 M5 owners must be feeling the pinch M maintenance is the killer punch, these cars were built for deep pockets.
Apex 693 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 True, hence why the missus and I were turned off the E46 M3, we looked at the service history on one and one of the bills was close to $5,000 which was for seals and a few other bits and bobs.. Which is also why some M cars drive and perform very poorly as owners often overlook (can’t afford to fix) things. I’d take a Red one.
kiwi535 538 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 M5 owners must be feeling the pinch M maintenance is the killer punch, these cars were built for deep pockets. what would a warranty cost on one of these(could you even get one on this one at 130k??)
Apex 693 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 I would think so, you can get a warranty on anything it’s like insurance. But you would struggle to get anything out of them, a warranty doest cover maintenance or service costs nor does it cover normal wear items.
Mark 178 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 Warranty wise, a lot of companies specifically exclude high performance sports cars from getting coverage. I know in my warranty book it says that M-Powered BMW's are not covered.

Imagine, for the price of a new M5, you can get all four E39 M5s AND an E46 M3. Don't you just love depreciation?

Gaz 1061 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 I don't think the colour is all bad. It looks kinda of stealth, like you wouldn't expect it to be a M5 which I like. Might look different in person as well.
